Hey Guys!
Here is my promised full post for this week.
1) As usual, I am going to start with the
Answers & Awards Section.
Last time we had a nice quiz about a muscle-car-looking auto
from the Desert Hills level which had a
mysterious logo on the grill.
And many of you attempted to guess the car manufacturer.
Some thought it is Cadillac, some thought it is Mitsubishi,
Terlingua Mustang without livery and Mob's Car were also mentioned.
Here is the correct answer:
Our
“NFS Brand Award” goes to
FireFox97 who was the first to provide us with the right answer.
And for the rest of you
who were close enough but did not get it right
I have an
“Another NFS” Award for Participation
2) I know that many of you are waiting for
the new “Insider Series” videos from Drew about Autolog and such.
They will be ready in about a week. But for now,
I have
2 pretty interesting
unpublished videos with NFS Run Developers
that you have probably never seen before:
-
Need for Speed: The Run 'Story' Developer Interview Steve Antony
Out-of-car Producer
“...at our heart we are driving game...”Adam Myhill
Story Producer
“...it is short and sweet...”-
Need for Speed: The Run 'Driving' Developer Interview Jason Delong
Executive Producer
“...there is this iconic dream, the canvas of the USA...”Alex Grimbley
Driving Producer
“...in the shooter you choose specific weapon for the level,
in The Run we did the same thing with the cars...”3) Next on our list will be a short discussion about
Damage&Destruction in the NFS Run.
I know that some of you still have doubts about the amount of realism in the game.
Most common questions in the forum were about handling and damage model.
I will touch Handling part a bit later in my post,
and
Damage Model got our detailed review in July in this thread.
However, for some of you who have not red it yet,
I have a couple of
comparison screenshots from the game
showcasing in-game damage model against visual damage in the real world.
Just before the "french kiss" with a telephone pole:
After-crash condition, still alive and driving:
"Hugging Poles" in the real world:
Visual damage looks very real to me.
High five to BlackBox and Frostbite 2.0
4) Now 2 words about handling.
Here is one of the best NFS Run videos ever (in my personal opinion).
It is a prove that Desert Hill level is not dull but vibrant,
there is no lack of sence of speed but pure adrenalin race,
and well chosen in-game music can change the whole atmosphere.
Full Desert Hill Level gameplay from the bump-cam with the custom soundtrack(just watch it in 1080p HD)
FEEL THE SPEED!
5) I do not have many new pics of the NFS Girls today,
so I decided to give you some sence of how broad
NFS Brand really is.
We all know excellent NFS Games, we all know award winning Team NFS,
we all know beautiful NFS Models, and today we saw the NFS Car Brand.
I believe it is a pretty cool car, rightfully carring NFS logo on the grill.
But here is a NEW brand-product,
for all of you who have thirst for speed.
6) And to finish up,
our next
NFS Run "Guess the Yellow Car" quiz:
Good luck.
P.S.> In my next post you will find
NFS Run console comparisons, info about in-game characters in The Run,
new cars and quizzes.
