I sorted the Fraps sound synch problem. It had nothing to do with the sound card at all and was caused by the Asus EPU 6 Engine. In my quest for a smoother game I upped the setting in it from High Performance to Turbo with is a just a simple overclock using the Asus ROG software. It seems that Fraps and overclocked CPU's do not get along. The upside is I now have a brilliant sound card. The downside is I now have all the noise back when in multi player. With the old sound card I by accident got the sound muted but I have no idea how I did it. I just fiddled with things in the sound settings and all of a sudden multi player was quiet and I could hear my own engine instead of some fool with an open mike playing sound through his speakers. Does anyone have any idea which of the ports that EA use carries the sound or voip signal? Poul I did the test with with 2 cores but I got no slowdown. That maybe because I have everything on LOW and even sound set to low performance although I see and hear absolutely no difference between LOW and ULTRA in game it does effect frame rate when recording. The test I did on Brads dual core was interesting though and recording with Fraps on his PC just kills the frame rate. That is a dual edged sword depending on what sort of race you are doing. With slow tight tracks it sucks because the car just seems so slow and not being used to that threw my timing out completely but if there is traffic it has the advantage of giving you far more time to react in order to dodge cars in the way. The time on the recording was way off and did not correspond to the race time given. B

Brain, there is a video on youtube on how to mute the sound you here from others mics in The Run, i think you have to start a multiplayer game, press escape to pause, then open sounds in control panel and uncheck a few things, but i dont remember what exactly.

Yes framerates are very low - the whole gaming experience is slowed down.
Aaron - I think one has to mute each time you enter a lobby, but i guess you could forfeit the 1st race and just win the rest? What happens when new players enter?

No I tried that there are no settings. I believe it only works for Xbox like that. I am about to have a full go at EA as soon as this video is uploaded to YouTube.I have just had it with these idiots who cheat by drowning out the other competitors car sounds. Brad and I have been in room after room today that just seem to get worse and worse until you cannot hear yourself think never mind drive a race. The idiot in the video BillyBlue2010 had his mic set up next to a radio and just increased the volume when asked to mute it. He still did not win but it made for a very unpleasant session after session. So we move to another have peace for 10 or 15 minutes and then another inconsiderate idiot will come into the lobby with music or feedback or a baby screaming in the background. We even had one with a parrot going bananas today. So off to bed I go I have a splitting headache. B

He was still dominated for 10 or so races as well as the others. I put him in his place prior to dad joining but he decided to go louder and that's when pop's got involved to record this prick, he wasn't just put in his place he was royally gang raped by father and son. Joking aside, it got a bit to much in the end as we had 2 people using trainers as well as some inconsiderate little prick blaring his music and game noise down his mic all in one lobby(also recorded), we still dominated but it's not the point, how can you enjoy a game like this. I think we had one lobby that was quiet the whole friging day. They just don't learn that even with their noise and cheating ways they still don't win.
