Hey guys!
I just wanted to let you know about an NFS World event that happens on Thursday and Friday, where the matches will be played live on a big stage with commentary (probably only in German though) and you should be able to watch them online as well. Actually it is not just NFS World but also FIFA and Halo. I will try to explain it for you.
The whole thing is called "Germany's best gamer" and it is sponsored by a big German computer magazine. 4 people qualified for each of the games NFS World, FIFA and Halo. At gamescom the champion of each game will be determined. These 3 champions will then fight in the Overall Final, playing the games that are unfamiliar to them. The NFS champion will have to play FIFA against the Halo champion and Halo against the FIFA champion. Also the champions in FIFA and Halo will have to play NFS World against each other.
These are the prizes:
1. Platz: VW Up
2. Platz: LCD-TV Medion Life S18006 mit zwei 3D-Brillen
3. Platz: Gamer-Notebook Medion Erazer X6819
4. bis 12. Platz: Gutschein im Wert von 100 Euro für Einkäufe bei Amazon
So 3 NFS World players will win 100 euros to spend on Amazon and the NFS champion will win one of the big prizes, maybe even a car.
These people qualified for NFS: Johnson, Montrey, Calabria (known as Thlayd in NFS World), Copkillar777.
That means there will be an ISRC member competing as well, although Johnson is probably the clear favourite in NFS. He is one of the world's best players in console racing games like Forza and you can really see his talent in NFS World as well. I think Bigman will probably agree as far as I have heard.
The NFS finals will be played on Thursday from 16:45 German time (although live events hosted by ESL are well known for their delay).
Johnson vs Copkillar777 - 16.08. 16:45
Calabria vs Montrey - 16.08. 17:10
Winner Match 1 vs Winner Match 2 - 16.08. 17:35
The Overall Final will start on Friday at 18:15.
All the matches should be streamed live on this site: de.esl.tv/

If you are interested in how the 4 NFS players qualified you can check the results of the two qualifier tournaments. The top 2 of each of them qualified for gamescom.

I failed to qualify about as close as you can fail by finishing third in both of the qualifiers, only losing to the eventual winner both times. The match against montrey was really frustrating in particular because I had a good lead in the deciding race for two and a half laps before the traffic decided to kill me.
Magster also didn't make it because he didn't show up for the first cup and was stopped very early by mslns in the second one. I am not sure what happened there. For me personally Magster was the biggest favourite to qualify in each of the qualifiers because of the great results he is always showing on here. Bigman unfortunately didn't know about the event until it was too late. He would have probably made it for sure.
Anyway, although I am of course a bit sad that I can't play on the big stage myself I will be there at gamescom as a spectator and it will be very interesting to see how the matches will go and what the commentators will have to say about our game. I am also curious about the performance of the FIFA and Halo champions in NFS, although last year in NFS Shift 2 they managed to handle the cars surprisingly well.
If you have any further questions about this event, then feel free to ask and I will try to help you out.
