Started getting pop-up ads when browsing this forum in the last week or two. A bit concerning because I got a virus from one of these pop-up ads a few years ago.

That's odd... This forum only has the Google Ad banners. I don't know where the pop ups come from. It might be someone's image host? I know that abload.de is the worst image host ever when it comes to pop upping, but I do not think people use it here. Jussi

I've had a pop up video show up while trying to browse the World sub-forum. It's rare, but it does happen. Switching this site to "restricted" stopped the pop-ups.
I have two computers and it's happened on both. Racerplanet had a similar problem, but that was 2 or 3 years ago.
update - update just happened now, went to NFS World section and a Geico car insurance ad / video popped up.
If I set proboards.com to restricted site, I can't login. I set IE8's pop-up blocker to "high" will see if that helps.

That's really really odd. I just tried isrc2.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=nfsw with IE, Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome and got no pop-up? ...and I do not have any pop-up blocker, unless it's a default setting on all these 4 browsers. Could clearing cookies maybe help? Jussi

That's really really odd. Could be that the ad server is getting my ip, and selecting ads based on my zip code.

Ok, turns out it's not a pop-up ad, but instead Adobe Flash Player expanding the ad window size to play a short clip. The Geico ad, from aka-cdn-ns (dot) adtechus (dot) com, is one of these (I replaced "." with "(dot)" to disable the link). Most or all of these ads are using Adobe Flash Player.
