Hi guys and gals! I looked around an could not find an appropriate thread, so I made a new one. Anyway...I just bought us a new Internet connection. The new modem is still finding it's settings, but I think it's going to be faster than our current connection, which has this speed... The new connection is also only half the price, which is good. Okay, I'm gonna do this test twice. This one over here is what I get at my place (...) Detailed results download speed MP3 (5MB): 4 secondsVideo clip (35MB): 25 seconds Movie (800MB): 9 minutes. Got some pretty good internet over here. And it's very reliable as well. I'm gonna do this test at my parents' place for the heck of it. They have a connection which is a lot more expensive, but according to the provider its maximum speed should be five times higher than mine. I have a hard time believing that, so now I'm getting curious. Hey, maybe next week I can check the speed at the universities' fibreglass connection. That should give some blistering results. PS: Jussi, did Sonera also tell you what server you were going through?

sonera one, at about 11:12PM GMT -5 satellite internet so somewhat expected.... and 2 other comps here also using the connection, yeah... either way, i can get into NFS World just fine, just controller not working... i cant play using just arrow keys for accelerator/brakes EDIT: and it generally just depends, sometimes things will DL/UL in 5min or less, sometimes it takes longer... better when the weather is good in both network provider's places + ours...

And at my parents' place (...) Detailed results download speed MP3 (5MB): 1 secondsVideo clip (35MB): 7 seconds Movie (800MB): 3 minutes. Pretty damn fast, but nowhere near five times as quick as my own. And it has a tendency to drop some Mbits here and there (especially when going to any server other than Amsterdam).
