I had the level 17, $90,000, "Stealth" Lotus Elise. Not sure what level I was at from the screen, but I spent skill points on "dragster" (acceleration) and "nerves of steel" (handling), which were both at least upgraded to 2/3 by level 17. At level 18, I maxed out handling to 3/3 and at 19, acceleration to 3/3 (that's when they unlock).

Hey, you have given me another good info on skills.. thanx; will be updating it now.

There is an issue that the effectiveness of the skills and powerups seem to vary from Beta to Beta. In the May 14 Beta, nitrous wasn't very effective compared to previous versions. In another Beta, the accelration and handling upgrades may not have as much effect. Sometimes the effect is changed without updating the displayed menu values.

Well for now, I'm just updating what written there about skills. Weither its effective or not, we have to discuss it ourselves and also report them. Lets discuss it on the topic I created.

For comparason, video from Most Wanted, Elise at Rockridge, 1:33.55. In World with perfect start and nitrous (glitched) the Elise best would probably be about 1:50.

...ehm, not really. That video makes me want to sit down with that Jude guy and have a real man-to-man discussion about the essence of awesomeness and what one can achieve with it. Didn't like the hammer analogy though, I'm more of a baseball bat guy.

But on a serious note though, the video provides little to no information. The first guy is saying that this is all new and that being online in great numbers allows us to do all kinds of new things we've never done before (getting a strange sense of déjà vu here). Where's the part where he tells us what these new things actually are?
