Just wanted to let you guys know about a tournament that is currently going on. It is called The Competition and it is sponsored by EA but only for players from Germany (no idea why). There was an open ladder stage first and then the top 16 qualified for the so called Premier Class, a league with 15 matchdays which is running right now. These are the prizes: 1st - PlayStation 3 2nd - Logitech G19 Keyboard 3rd - Razer Lachesis Mouse 4th to 6th - NFS T-Shirt Top 8 qualify for the next Premier Class. Matches: competition.needforspeed.de/index.php?page=premier.gameplan&PlatformID=1&TPID=5Standings: competition.needforspeed.de/index.php?page=premier.table&PlatformID=1&TPID=5I will probably finish 4th but as you can see our member rtxus is one of the 3 players that are still unbeaten, so he is still fighting for the PS3. The first map is given for each week and then the loser chooses the next one. All tracks in the game are allowed but only 4 bonus cars: Maserati, Aston Martin, BMW and Audi. I have recorded some of my matches and put them online: www.youtube.com/watch?v=15b-t4Ls3cMwww.youtube.com/watch?v=uCIRuClCg1kThere will be more videos coming when I have time. This week I have to play against rtxus but I don't think I will have much of a chance there, especially with the first map being Spa...

Will there be a second season of the Premier league? I think I'll participate then, I've watched your vids and I'm able to do equal times, so I should be competitive.

You have to join the open ladder and be top 8 there when the new season is about to start.

I recall rtxus asking about systems affecting game performance and what components zx12rcr had in his system (intel core 2 i7 960 and nvidia 285 I think). Anyway, within a few weeks after this, rxtus lap times went from lap times similar to mine to the top player's lap times and he's now #1 at wrecord.com.
Has he ever mentioned what contributed to his relatively quick improvement to #1 at wrecord.com, such as setups, driving techniques, game settings, system or controller upgrades, ...?

His explanation, I believe, was that he changed from pro to normal mode in game settings.

He doesnt use assists and started the first 2 months with Prohandling mode.Thats hwy he knows the cars better and can control 'em perfectly. After using normal mode his times went down ,first on Road america and NS..He told me after chaning to normal the first time was 1:52 at Roadamerica and 6:11 at Nordschleife. That's what he's written to me a some time ago;)

rxtus drives without any assists now. No assists is fastest for most players. A few players like Anak and WolfKing use traction control high, steering assist low, and run very fast times at Nordschleife, under 5:55.

I'm one of those too:P 5:55 at NS , 1:50 at Road america e.g... Well traction control reduces a lot bouncingt ,so I dont wanna miss it:P ,the steering assist is good for mostly all tracks except for Silverstone and Willow Springs. But I started this gae with keyboard and so I used to learn driving with assist.

What is up with Husky? He give it up after loosing to Raven? Or already in that game he went default? :X Well, the default loss he got from the admins against montrey and the match against r4veNNN with that restart incident were in the same week. After that he refused to compete any longer. I uploaded 2 more matches: www.youtube.com/watch?v=g95gRuu46qkSorry for the sloppy driving on Ambush, that wallride there is not on purpose but it's just hard to focus 100% when you can beat your opponent rather easily. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rybo12Z1n9MThat was the closest match so far from those that I won. On Road America you can see the pure beauty of NFS Shift, bouncing and time penalties everywhere, lol. I guess none of us really deserved to win this race.

It seems he has more grip than you, most noticable on the last lap at Ambush Canyon, where he brakes later than you, closes the gap and manages not to rear end you, for example, entering the tunnel on the last lap, but it happens on just about every turn on that last lap. I'm not sure why he waited until then to pass. At the end of Ambush it was difficult to tell if he spun out on his own, or if lag issues caused him to be rear ended by your car from his game's perspective. At Spa, he was able to easily follow you. If the cars were equal, you'd be increasing the gap on the straights more than what I saw in the videos. At Nordschleife, it appears he can run sub 6:10 there if not impeded and starting at the front. I've suspected that gameplay is affected by the players system, pc speed, nvidia versus ati video card (physx), controller, ..., but I don't know if it's a combination of these things, or most of it due to just one component.
