It sounds pretty sweet, and the styling is lovable as well. What's up with the high, rear suspension though, in that video?

The majority of the weight loss came from the back, so there's less weight on the springs back there... hence it sits high. the springs lower it 35mm. You should have seen it on stock springs with the tiny track wheel/tire combo LOL.

I was thinking to myself "Seriously, what is Stig thinking to have the rear that high?"

*Wipes dust off this thread*
Should probably wipe the dust off the car at some point, but whatevs.
Anyway, with the coming of spring it's time for a bump.
In its hibernation the car is now sitting on Bilsteins all around.
I'm hoping to move up to a little bigger than just autox this year, but a couple things need attention before that happens: tires and brakes.
Unfortunately, that needs to happen on a tight budget.
I'm thinking EBC yellowstuff pads front and rear for brakes... possibly (but not particularly likely due to $$$) rotors. Only problem I'm running into is finding them for the front, I'm assuming since it's a '95 with the old style hubs which are different in whatever way they're different from the newer ones.
For tires, my plan is a pair of Kumho Ecsta XS's in the same 205/50/15 size that I've been running. The Azenis still grip great, it's just wear that's going to become a problem. I think they'll be just fine on the back, though. Then the Kumho's on the front. Also probably going to downgrade from steelies to the delta's off my 9-3 in the pursuit of lightness.

are you going to upgrade the rotors while your replacing the pads? slotted rotors make a deffinate improvement over your run of the mill type rotors
with some of the pads, you can get them cut down to fit your current calipers.. i think it was a case with one of the EBC pads for one of the mitsubishi evo calipers and the Nissan Sunny/Pulsar HN15 calipers.
altho dont quote me on the evo/pulsar combination, i cant remember if it was the evo or some other models

As I hinted to earlier, I did my first event of the season yesterday. AMEC autox way down at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway. Was quite the day The car felt awesome but the weather/my driving just didn't cooperate. My fastest time ended up being a 1:00.30. Would have been a 58.3x, but two cones jumped in the way I ended up just running the street tires, for the sake of actually having tread in the wet. Breakfast stop at 5:55, 1.5 hours into the drive There: Same class? (ALL forced induction cars were in one of two classes (up to and over 2.5L)) I'll update with action shots/video as/if I get them.

Decided to try braking slightly later for the chicane... on cold pads. Didn't end so well Pulling into the pits with the smell of overcooked brakes AND burning grass was at least a little change of pace My driving was terrible on Saturday, so I ended up with a 67.9. I couldn't just go home with that so I coughed some money and cleared my head and Sunday I was doing much better. Was consistently faster every time out and ended up with a 63.4, or something like that. Curiosity got the best of me after I changed back to the street tires, so I went out and did a couple gentle laps. I think I like the gearing better with the taller tires (205/55/16 vs 205/50/15), so I may end up going with something more in line with that. Also gonna need to step up the brakes ASAP...

Guess I never really updated this. Autox'd a couple weeks ago, was overall a pretty disappointing day. The car felt like shit, I wasn't much better, and I ended up finishing about halfway through the day with a weird intermittent coolant leak. We determined that the radiator was leaking under pressure. Parts car, I choose you! I pulled the rad out and found that it appears to have been leaking somewhat from then seam between the endtank/core on the drivers side... and also a nice hole in the endtank on the pass. side. The oil cooler mounts (for now... ) to the radiator. To clear the intercooler we moved it down to the lower tabs, so it hangs pretty low. I theorize that my off pictured above resulted in it taking a hit, twisting backwards, and tearing that tab out. Anyway, swapped it with a hopefully good rad from the parts car/spare shell/etc While I was doing that, dad was working on the brakes.... Hoping it'll be on the ground tomorrow night so I can get some miles on it before I leave @ noon on Friday to be putting it through its paces all weekend
