I just updated my game 10 minutes ago. The 30 fps cap is gone, but other than I think maybe the graphics looks a bit better i have no idea what changes have been made. Poul

About friggin time. Looks like they fixed a majority of the complaints. Edit - After the patch, my sound is f##ked, has a stuttering effect and there is a big delay in the sound when the cars shift and take off. Game keeps freezing after i restart a race in challenge series. I tried to post this in NFS forums, but i have to choose a persona to reply for some reason, never had to before, and when i do, it loads and loads and loads. I waited 10 minutes and lost patience.

OMG! What the hell have they done to the game!? I have the fuc ked up sound as well but there is something much worse: The handling of the cars has changed completely! Am I the only one who has this? Maybe it doesn't affect wheel players but with my gamepad the cars feel like twice as heavy now and they turn in like a truck. It is absolutely terrible! I don't think I want to continue playing the game like this. And that after I only just started for real...

At this point I can't even get into the game. It just sits and waits at the first screen. I've waited for something like 5 minutes but still no progress. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I didnt notice a difference in handling, but i was on a dirt track, and i was focused on fixing the sound. If there is a difference in handling, with wheels, its very slight. I cant get over the sound issue though, it sounds terrible and very annoying. They will have to fix this before i play again.

For me the handling difference is huge. I noticed it instantly. At first I thought it may be the car because I hadn't used that one before but then I tried the well known Porsche 918 and that one steered as slow as a truck as well. Another person reported the same thing on another site but he is also using a gamepad, so it may be related to that. Actually that guy said that the gamepad is now called gamepad in the key config options and before the patch it was called wheel. I believe it might be the same for me but what does it help if the game now understands what controller it is when that destroys the handling for it... Maybe they actually added official support for some more controllers with the patch but these amateurs have no clue how the cars are supposed to feel with them. I agree though that the sound issue is very annoying as well.

Patch working pretty so far.... the sound shutting issue goes away after the game has been restart.. or at least that worked for me..... I had to add a little more Center spring to my wheel to get the right setup and that was it... Rogerio can you post a link too that page you posted.... I need to figure out how to mute someone.... ;Players now have the option to mute VOIP of other players in multiplayer sessions....

To mute someone do it at the start of the race, so press ESC or Start, go to view players, it will give you a list of who is in the lobby and press X on the players you want to mute. This takes about 5-10 seconds depending on how quick u are.

Hi!
I for one have absolutely no problems... The patch is awesome! :S
I have the following sound options: 100% Race Experience Mix (all left) Race Music Off Surround Mode Stereo PC Performance - Low Performance (I choose this because I wanted the CPU as free as possible, who has a independent soundcard with its own sound processor should probably have high).
I set my graphics (all high @ 1080p) to have a minimum of 50 fps (Ascension was the test track), with a max a little over 80. I set that minimum to record with Fraps at 50 fps without problems. As reference, my PC is very similar to Aaron's one, but is not overclocked and I have an ATI 6950 card (around 5000 @ 3DMark 2011).
Monster, that info I published can be found in EA NFS The Run site, and it was all that you could find on the subject.
Paragleiber, go to Profiler and uncheck the box that allows the game to change settings. Then use "Profiler only" to set the Gamepad.
Hope this helps...
Rogério

Well im glad it works good for some of you, and i wonder if it has something to do with sound drivers or certain sound cards. I dont have a sound card yet, using on board, with up to date Realtek drivers, for now. I know i have drivers for Nvidia and Realtek, i havent tried to switch them yet, about the only thing i havent tried, that i can think of. Im going to mess around with that and see if i can at least get to where it is bearable.

Why is it that everybody can run The Run after the update and I get stuck at the loading screen at the very first beginning? It starts with a couple of flickering of the screen between Full screen and a Windowed screen. After that, and I left for at least 15 minutes, nothing but the very first loading screen. Very frustrating. I have 'repaired' my installation, nothing to be found. Before the update everything was running fine.
I guess I will search the Run forums and see if there's an answer, or else contact the makers.

You might have to reinstall the game and try again. Do you have enough space on your hard drive? I say that because i dont have much room left on my SSD, i was worried about having enough space for the patch, luckily i did.

I can't even get rid of the game. I've tried to uninstall it, but maybe I'm too impatient. The space isn't the problem. On the drive where I've got my things installed I've got 1.04 TB available from the 1.36 TB. My systems drive has got 15.5 GB out of 49.9 GB available.
