Hello all! New to this forum, very nice to be here Thought I should raise the bar a little bit for the contest: Race time --> 2:36.14 - bogdan_cp - Lotus Evora - 0 resets used Unfortunately I don't think I'm fully eligible to enter the competition. I have some issues with my copy of NFSTR which doesn't want to connect to Autolog anymore. Everything I've tried so far from EA Support has produced no results so I'm left with a castrated game (w/ zero online functionality) and the hope I might solve it one day by reinstalling everything on a clean Windows and restarting from scratch. If it worked once ...

Hi! I have to be honest... When I saw your time and you saying you couldnt connect to Autolog immediately concluded you were cheating because I remember that when I did this challenge I "only" did 2m 40s and I remember thinking it was good... But then again at the time I still hadnt noticed how much NOS you can gain for going on the wrong side of the road, and that explains your time. So, bottom line, sorry for the suspecting you at first, congrats on a great drive! Rogério

Hi Rogerio That's OK. And thanks for the honesty and congrats! I have another video of a previous attempt (and other gameplays) on my Youtube channel, clocking a second slower. The videos speak for themselves. I mentioned the Autolog problem for reasons of eligibility in the competition.
As a side note: the best time I've seen of this race is 2:34.50 and the respective player feels it can be improved even further.

Hi again! =) I am not sure what can be done since I still didnt try again since I originally did... But from your video I belive its possible to go faster, although sometimes we get a wrong feeling! LOL There are a lot of factors in this game that can affect things... You friend is probably right... ISRC is the right place to see what can be done! =) I saw some of your other videos... Cool videos! Unfortunately for me I only found about the using the wrong side of the road thingy a few days ago and many of my Challenges are outdated because of that... Ascension is one of them... I dont have the car you used, but with the Miura I was 1.5s slower, now will have to see how much more I can take gaining NOS that way. Rogério

I think 2:34 - 2:35 or lower will be a good time here. I just ran a 2:38.10 and was 1.3 seconds behind my previous best after the first 3 or 4 turns because of crash with ai racer. This was my first time trying to set a good time at this track, with only 20 or less runs, so i should improve considerably. I would bet the winning time will be below 2:34.
Welcome bogdan and nice driving!

Hey guys, a 2:34 is definetly possible. If the traffic align properly in certain corners and you are able to draft at the beginning, then a 2:33 might be possble. Im down to 2:36.97 and almost spun out in one corner loosing 8/10 of a second in that corner and i used nos incorrectly just before going into the hairpins. Im sure i can do mid 2:35 or lower. I will post a video tonight when/if i get below 2:36. P.S. A little tip - there are a few sections where you shift into 4th for only a second or so, you loose speed when you shift into 4th, so just stay in 3rd and you will see your times drop.

Yes, it's very important to draft the opponent at the beginning and save as much NOS as possible for the uphill stretch between 1st and 2nd checkpoint. But to get in the 2:33-34 region, luck becomes a necessity. Especially at the 180 turns in the middle - having an AI car there to bounce of (keeping the speed and revs' up) is ideal. And indeed 4th gear is tuned too low. I found it helpful to use NOS when it's up-shifting in 4th and to avoid it completely when it's down-shifting in 3rd around corners. Thank you! Glad to be here

I'm using the keyboard most of the times, but lately I've been switching back and forth between it and my old Logitech MOMO racing wheel. I first got introduced to NFS with Porsche Unleashed, a wonderful game back in its' day. But I lost touch with the series soon after Hot Pursuit 2 and Underground 1 came out. Other fun things have kept me busy (university, job, getting married and so on) I got back 'behind the wheel' with Hot Pursuit 2010 and now The Run. They are to me the perfect sequels to my old love for NFS - driving beautiful cars in beautiful and varied scenery. For that reason I'm not a big fan of Shift or SIMs in general.
