Brian would you please test to see if I am right about the 2 core vs 4 core thing or not?

I am currently uploading my video and I used Windows Live Movie Maker. Let us see how the quality is compared to VirtualDub. The file was 320Mb or something and I had the option to just select where to upoload to in Movie Maker and could decide which screen size i wanted and all sorts of net stuff. Hopefully it will look allright.

Brian would you please test to see if I am right about the 2 core vs 4 core thing or not? Poul Will do Poul. I am just migrating the game PC's system to larger drives and changing the RAID setup. I was having issues with the RAID 10 array, (4x 500Gb Seagate drives) every time The Run froze the PC up (about twice a week) I would have to rebuild and do error checks (3 to 4 hours) on the array so I have taken the opportunity to stick a pair of TB drives in and just do a RAID 1. This is a 10 hour operation first doing the clone and then migrating the clone to the RAID 1. Got +- 5 hours to go. I am also upgrading the sound card to an Asus Xonar D2X to try and resolve the video sound synch problem which according to the forums is common with Fraps and Creative Audigy cards Once Brad is up I will do a test on his Dual Core machine though. PS. Great time by the way. B

Not sure if I have time to do this tomorrow, so here's my crappy try, which will no doubt put me on the last place again... Jussi Jussi on a keyboard I think its a miracle you got through the traffic on the highway so crappy? No I don't think so I think you did great. This is my least favorite event in The Run even Brad went faster that me. I just have mental block with it and the highway sucks. B

Here is the video of my run. Notice how I am 0.23 sec ahead of Aaron´s time, when I simply am to focused on looking at the time rather than the traffic, but I am lucky it did not hurt too much hitting that AI traffic car. Would had been hard to accept if I had not beaten his time leading that close to the finish line - or worse yet crashed and reset. Brian I really have to thank you by suggesting to use Windows Movie Maker. The video looks just as good as if I had used VirtualDub. Poul

Hey guys, i did some testing last night with several things. I tried Windows Movie Maker first, i guess im not smart enough to figure it out, all i get is a black screen, but i get sound? I see all the clips on the right when i import videos, but the preview display on the left is always black. I ran a few more races and tried using those videos, but always the same. Any ideas? I also tried using MSI Afterburner to capture and it is more demanding than Fraps, recording at half screen, i could only get 15-20 fps which was almost impossible to drive. Also, the video was even more out of sync with the time, i ran a high 2:26 and the video time after vitualdub was 2:55. I then went back to Fraps and tried recording to my external hard drive, no difference at all than recording to my HDD drive. In fact, the only video with the correct time is the original video that i captured of 2:25.57. I have spent enough time trying to figure this out, now ill just wait to upgrade my PC.
Thanks Poul and Brian for all your help and great time Poul!

You have Windows 7 Aaron? Do not know if it looks like this if you don´t - but here goes. Add video - I added 2 files, because I record in full-size Press Youtube and you are asked to sign in to Windows Live Movie Maker. Then decide in which resolution you want it and that´s it. Damn easy and I must thank Brian once again for pointing out how easy this is to use. Poul

Is Windows 7 required for NFS The Run? I have no idea if there is a difference or if it´s the same program - maybe Brian just calls it Movie Maker?

From what i understand Windows movie maker live is for Win7 and Windows movie maker is for earlier OS. Lets continue this conversation in another thread somewhere, or Jussi will want to have our heads.

OK Aaron, we need Brians help to tell how his screen looks like. I never did this before, so I have no Idea on how it should look like. Maybe it is because we use different settings in FRAPS? I record set to 50 fps and full-size.

NFS "The Run" only works with Win7 ........ the first sign of getting old is that memory thing...... I downloaded Windows movie maker..... and then tried downloading Windows live movie maker and it told me it was already installed...... So I just want to import and export a video clip...... Of course Aaron has Win7, he wouldn't be able to play this game without it.. Question what is the difference between Windows Movie Maker & Windows Movie maker live.. ?
