I agree with Wizard a 100% on that issue, running top speed into a turn not caring to even slow down because I know I can reset and still get a better time than if I were to slow down.....
Here an another idea..... Racers with resets are categorize together and racers without reset are in there own category....in front of the reset category..
As far a classes like in the previous NSF games,,, We are all Professionals even the guy in last place....If I am racing in the NASCAR circuit against the big dog's and I rank 10th place, I and still a professional...

How big advantage do you recon those resets are? We could for example add 1% to the time for each reset. David's time was 2:29.10 = 149.10 seconds... 0 resets = 149.10 seconds = 2:29.10 1 reset = 150.59 seconds = 2:30.59 2 resets = 152.08 seconds = 2:32.08 3 resets = 153.57 seconds = 2:33.57 4 resets = 155.06 seconds = 2:35.06 5 resets = 156.55 seconds = 2:36.55 This would be a lot simpler rule and we could keep everyone racing in the same series, which is important, since people (like me) may be able to produce clean runs in some of the challenges and reset runs in others. How does this sound? Jussi

I think it sounds fair and I know the top three in these PBRC´s, will be within one sec of each other. And a reset is not an advantage in most tracks - other than I read you can exploit it, by going on full throttle and manually reset. But it won´t be a problem, since winners time is always backed up by video proof.
If it will keep Brian happy I too will enter with no resets.

Jussi no one here knows who David is.... Except for you and Aaron because you are on my facebook... I go by the name of Sunny around here..... but I am not sure about the math and what calculations you using to come up with that time..... Slamming a turn wide open has to have a bigger advantage that 150.59 of a second penalty
Old Spice Challenge is such an easy track too run..... there is no traffic to deal with.... you only have the Ali cars going down the side of the mountain to contend with...
Instead of posting another picture my new time is 2.26.70 ranking second place behind Wizard....but then again Poul, Aaron or Rogerio haven't posted yet so I still might end up in 5th place..... I still have another week to run this track, So when I get to my limit I'll post a time with a picture.......

Hi Jussi!
Before I forget, I cant do this Challenge because I dont have it... My Profile doesnt allow me to change Country... Tried different PC's, different Browsers, always the same.
About the resets... In normal circumstances I would be against them, but not here. I am not against in what concerns The Run, because I for one have no time and probably patience to be trying and trying because a PC car decided to put itself in front of me at the last second or the draft is not coming out right. It's important to say that in this game, driving skill is just half of it. This games gives luck factor a big share of the final outcome, and these resets are the only thing that can balance it. For instance, for today's test, it took me less then 30m to achieve the time I will post, because I could use a Reset... If not, it could have taken me hours to put together a lap as good as that one, until near the end when it went down... Anyway, for personal experience from today, I know resets can allow for better times, therefor if a reset is used, a penalty must be set. In this regard I propose 0,5s per Reset, which is more or less what I think I won today due using it... There will be tracks, probably most, where resets will probably not have any effect or will be worse (usually is).
Cya!

2:28.30 - ISRC-Jussi - Old Spice Ford Mustang Boss 302 - 1 reset I tried to better my time without resets, but it was not successful. I can get under 2:30 just fine, but haven't been able to beat that time yet. The end result is almost the same though as 148,3 x 1,01 = 149,783 = 2:29.78. That's only about half a second slower than my fastest resetless run. Jussi

Jussi I think you should buy a wheel for Christmas. If the wife complaints, give her a real good treat Poul

Good Idea, The El-presidenta of a racing club using a keyboard doesn't sound right... you don't have to buy a G27, buy something a bit cheaper Tell your girl friend /wife/mistress to buy you a steering wheel for Xmas my first wheel was a momo wheel and I know they are cheap... Also there has to be a longer penalty for resets that "150" of second.. I think 1 full second would be better, edit; where in the hell is our moderator for this game... Dimz??? he's been posting 10 page thread about the best NFS game ever made and now the game has been release he is no where to be found.. Jussi I think you should buy a wheel for Christmas. If the wife complaints, give her a real good treat Poul

I think 1% is too much myself, 1/2% per reset would be better. I also think the Momo would be a great gift for Jussi. I was going to give him mine but it costs as much to ship it that far as it would to go buy a new one! Jussi, could the reason Johanna hasnt bought you one yet be because you havent married her yet?? Put a ring on that girls finger and i bet you get a new wheel!

I think 1% is too much myself, 1/2% per reset would be better. Let's just keep it in 1%, 'cos it's easier to count and remember and because there are some tracks where resets can be exploited. I think there's at least few tracks where the reset point is right after a corner and someone might just drive to that reset with excessive speed which would result in speed slowing crash to the wall, but they wouldn't have to worry about that, 'cos the reset will set them up with perfect line and speed for exit. If I had designed these tracks, all resets would be on straights and all barriers on the mountains would break, if you try to wallride them. ...plus, I would've made sure there was a possibility to get bronze medal on all challenges. Now there's few where you automatically get gold, if you finish ahead the first AI guy. I think you should get the bronze medal even if you finish third and silver even if you finish second. Currently game only gives medals if you win and as I said, some AI drivers already drive the gold medal speed. Jussi

just make it a full second and lose the other calculation you have of the 149.10 of 1 %,,, because in the previous version of NFS when you crash you have to start out in the middle of the road at a dead stop and this game allows you to get a running start before the crash... which BTW was is kind of F*** up... the other day I took a turn to fast and went off the cliff, when I came back I was on the same turn going off the cliff again and again and again..... Plus where our moderator at? we need a bug thread for problems with the game. chit I have going on that I wonder if anyone else is experiencing these problems
