Aaron what´s up with all them resets? I saw when you had beaten my time doing a 2.44.57 you had used 5 resets - and now again 5 resets when you improved to 2.43.77 - why? I find it hard to believe you do not know the track by now? Is there something about these resets, that I do not know about? I can understand that by getting reset, you will end up behind the cars again and by doing so - have the chance of drafting them - but that would be a shenanigan act - and I do think Jussi said something about that in the rules of this race? Or are the resets just because you can not get pass that last AI car, that almost always hits the safety barrier - or do you call it a guardrail? Then I can understand all the resets - otherwise not. Poul Edited: Perhaps we need to make some additional rules about things like; wall riding, reset to draft opponent and such Jussi?

Perhaps we need to make some additional rules about things like; wall riding, reset to draft opponent and such Jussi? Would be hard to police how people get from start to finish. I think we're just going to have to play the game as it was made. Can you, by the way, cut those hairpins short or do you have to have at least one wheel on tarmac like in Shift games? Jussi

Jussi I know it looks like I cut the hairpins short deliberately in my video of this race, but it is not the case. However if resetting continuously will give you an advantage because of drafting - then it should not be allowed. Not saying Aaron is doing that with all his resets of course In my latest run of 2.42.97 I am not cutting anything short in any hairpin - but I can upload it of course. Poul

My resets are caused mostly by running wide and losing time, but I was thinking that maybe I could try cutting the hairpins short, since it's really hard to get the traction after the turns with my PC and keyboard. Have you guys tried that challenge that has this same track wet and at night? That's super hard. Jussi

Poul, you are right about resetting because that damn AI car bouncing off the guardrail at the end kept screwing me up and i did so well on the rest of the track that i wanted to see what my time was going to be. Drafting?? You should know me better than that by now. I wouldnt post a time with any resets anyways.

I guess exploting the resets, might help you get better times, but how could we forbid them, when Autolog accepts times with resets? They're part of the game. Jussi

Aaron, I did think it was because of the AI car bouncing off and messing up your overtake. However I kind of felt I had to point out this reset issue, so that we could discuss what to do to avoid any exploration. Like Jussi points out; resets are part of this game, but should we simply forbid any entry with a reset? We all know the HUGE frustration it is to have been racing an almost perfect lap - only to mess it up in the last sector. Is this reset a good thing then? I have been pounding my keyboard more times that I can think of, when making a small mistake doing our PBRC´s, so do we allow resets?
Jussi I have no idea what challenge you are talking about - name please?

I would have no objecton to using resets, it would save time for sure. I assumed they wouldnt be allowed. Im sure there are ways to use them to manipulate the game, but to be honest, i dont care. I guess getting older is changing how i see things. Worrying about someone beating because they are cheating in a race in a stupid game just isnt important to me anymore, i have better things to do with my time. It ruins the fun, which is one of the reasons i havent raced much since Shift1. This game is actually pretty fun and i dont see a reason to let anything ruin that. @poul, i knew you were using me as an example about resets, i was just giving you a hard time, as usual.

Jussi I have no idea what challenge you are talking about - name please? National Park, Challenge 4, Tioga Run (I think). It's preventing me of unlocking a cool Porsche. I tought I will take part in these.. But I am on PS3 so I can't? Did the track in 2:35.87... yes, I used walls to be faster on corners. You could have just taken the picture from Autolog web page... Now we just wall ride our way down without using the brakes? Then I am out of these PBRC´s and I know every other decent racer will be too. Poul

Why does EA still make games that encourage wall riding by making it faster than real driving? Jussi
