It is not a secret that the NFS Run story was originally inspired by illicit trans-america rallies. I could not resist, to post you about legal one for 2011 which is going to start just in about 20 hours. 4000 miles, 100 cars, 7 days, Vegas -> Miami. Some of the rules are: 1. No GPS or Satellite Navigation systems can be used. 2. No cell phones, laptop computers, radio or CD player. 3. Cars must start and finish each day under their own power, or under the power of their drivers. 4. Cars finishing outside the maximum time allowed will get picked up by the "reaper" and towed - leading to disqualification. Superspeeders Rob is going to use his new-bought Ford Mustang Cobra R '00: P.S.> This video has a nice theme song, hopefully it will be in the NFS Run game as well:

Aren't all those 'Runs' really just an 'imitation' of The Bandit Run, and later on, The Cannonball run . . . ? Anyway, i like the ideas - i organise similar 'Runs' over here for moped scooters Bandit

In another thread there is an interview where they point out The Cannonball Run as an inspiration...
