Bit the bullet and let my 5-6 year old PC go, got a new setup. While I was at it I got a new TV (Toshiba 32" 720p, open box $299) and a used PS3. Enjoying things... old one was getting pretty bad, a right-click menu would often grind things to a halt

I am hijacking this thread to announce that I'm buying a new laptop tonight. The one I'm currently working on (the same one I've been complaining about for the past four years or so) is finally dead; I'm running it in safe mode as I'm writing this. Can't run normally anymore because it'll show artifacts and crash every five minutes. The graphics card seems to be f**ked... again. So now I got an excuse to buy myself a new machine. The specs: HP Elitebook 8560wProcessor Intel i7-2630M QuadCore Memory 4 GB 1333 DDR3 Harddisk 500 GB 7200RPM Optical Drive DVD-RW UB Screen 15.6" FHD WVA (1920 x 1080) anti-glare Graphics NVIDIA Quadro 1000M Battery 8C 75Whr Wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n USB 2 USB 2.0 & 2 USB 3.0 OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit I don't think the optical drive is going to be able to play blu-ray, but that surely won't stop me from buying. Games still ship on DVD and it's not like I have a choice anyway. This shit will set me back €963 (three year warranty and on-campus support included). Waddayathink?

While this is at the top, the PS3 has been replaced by a 360. Which I've had for less than two weeks and it's already dead, perfect!
BUT. Forza > GT5. End of story.

€ 250,- Whaddayathink!? Considering the price it seems like a good deal. The specs are almost similar to my now-old laptop, be it that most parts are slightly newer and I think the graphics might be better as well. @jussi - I'd say that Bandit's purchase is about three years old. Talking about graphics cards, 1GB dedicated is supposed to be better and faster than 1GB shared right? While this is at the top, the PS3 has been replaced by a 360. Which I've had for less than two weeks and it's already dead, perfect! BUT. Forza > GT5. End of story. Hi Stig, long time no message. Two weeks? Damn! And about that Forza vs. GT5 shit, I'ma let you finish but NFS is the best shit of all... ah, never mind. My new laptop arrived today and it's freaking beautiful with that brushed metal and shit. I have yet to turn it on but I really like it already. Looks and feels solid too. And come to think of it... ...I can finally play GRID and Hot Pursuit now!
