I seem to be having some problems with Shift now. This is just a guess, but do you have a backup of an older savegame that you could try? Or you can try this savegame: rcgldr.net/nfss/nfss.zipI'm wondering if the savegames can get corrupted somehow. Looking at the savegame content, it seems that there's some random text data put into the savegames, either due to reallocation of unitialized memory, or perhaps a deliberate attempt to make it harder to locate variables inside a savegame by comparing savegames.

Hey
Thanks for offering my that save game Jeff, but I do have a backup. Problem is that it is 2 months old but I guess I will just have to write down all my settings and some of the car setups. I just do not understand why Shift starts to crash now. There could be a lot of reasons and one being me always upgrading things. I just installed AVG 30 days trial period and a new Nvidia driver along with changing some graphics settings in game and in Nvidia control panel. This PC has a hard time trying to keep up with me and all the things I stuff into it and then again later delete.

It doesn't make sense that the game would play differently over time if you haven't changed anything. In your case the only change was the video drivers, so you could try reverting to the previous driver to see if that helps. It's probably not the savegame, but you could backup your current savegame, try the old one, ignoring the differences in setups, just to see if it's having any effect on the game crashing. A few players are reporting that they see glitched cars more often now, but my guess is that glitch issue hasn't changed at all, just that more players are becoming aware of the problem and now realize when their cars get glitched, combined with the fact that more players are online now.

The game just started last week to crash on me too and I haven't done any upgrades. Is it possible that the programmers are changing code while the game is online. Because my buddy is starting to work sometime. one minute I can see others online the next minute it's not working again.
The game appears to be changing from day to day. I think its getting better with less glitches however it's been crashing more often.

The reason to my crash with Zonda all the time was the Nvidia driver 195.55, so I installed the 2nd latest 191 something. I have not played much since that install, but the Zonda on Nordschleife works again. I will have to wait and see if the game crashes to desktop more often than before or if it has gone away.

P.S I think it was also last week for me, that the game started this random crash to desktop online and offline.

My career file in Shift has somehow gone bad. I am unable to load my Grnkjr career file and my backup is sadly two months old. It happend right after my PC froze, when the game was loading after I had made some small changes in a tuning. When I restarted Shift I could not load the career file - not even after a reboot. All my latest tunings are gone and it sucks. Does anyone know what can be done about this? Some of my tunings are in the Inner Circle section - thank God.

Damn Poul! Your not having very much luck lately. I wish i could help, but i have no clue here. Im going to backup my save game(havent done it in a few months either), just in case.
The inner circle is turning out to be helpful in more ways than one.

Just remembered that my PC actually makes a backup of all my files automatically every Sunday 07.00 PM. But I have since disabled that, but I found a career file from 10th of January - that is OK.

Have you tried using a shadow copy (or how it's called in english) of your career file? It helped me when my game froze up in Dirt 2. I only lost a few races.

I backup after each session. I also turned off auto-save, since that seems to be the main way savegame can get corrupted since the auto-saves occur at times when the game is more likely to get glitched than doing a manual save. I now no longer do saves after online sessions, so my online stats get reset back to my savegame value each time I go online.

Hopefully Sunny reads this... I was racing online just a little while ago with Sunny and for some reason I was lagging terrible. I know I have had this problem before, but I have not seen it happen these last months and thought the problem was gone. I have been updating my BIOS lately and Windows Update - but I am not sure if that last update which included Microsoft Silverlight might have caused this. I tested on www.pingtest.net and I have a very good connection as you all can see - i wonder what might be my problem here. If anyone has any suggestions please tell me. Poul

I just tested again and if i connect to a server in Canada - then my line quality is rated C and that is a terrible low rating and might explain why I lag i guess. Poul

Hey Poul The other day when Tomas and I were racing and you join in before you had to go to work, You didn't blink on/off that day...... I did my own pingtest to Danmark, I ping your exact location Harlev here are my results. Calgary Canada is 1,000 miles to far from me and 2 time zone away, try pinging Toronto Canada it's less that 300 miles away
