Hmm...so is it good or bad? Because everything i've read about it, it's been excellent reviews. They (reviewers) were extremely impressed with the visual aspect and the scenery. One even said (IGN) that it's the best environments in a racing game he's ever seen. He also said the handling is good. Maybe it's better to play with a keyboard then? I'm going to try to hold off buying this till next year if i can so i can get it cheaper (after Christmas sales).
I personally don't care about no manual, i drive auto anyway. But i do agree that it's not a good thing to leave out in a racing game. But as Monster said, this and the no tuning is to keep everyone equal. I guess this is what it has to be to stop cheaters and make it fair.

. I guess this is what it has to be to stop cheaters and make it fair. How a "no manual" option will stop cheaters? What will stop cheaters is EA to want to stop cheaters and "try" to make a cheat free game (That's what Motor City Online was). Spiko I did download and installed the game but I didn't go past the introduction page. Maybe this weekend (I'm having fun playing LevelR since last weekend). Can someone tell me if it's a way to change your persona name?

Is there anybody who can tell me why my game crashes at the car selection screen? It really took forever to install the game, over a couple of hours. The game starts up good, I can change the configuration of the wheel, but when you are to choose the car, the game crashes to desktop. I have installed the latest drivers for my videocard. And I have the digital download of the Limited Edition.

I have no idea who tests these game EA has put out lately, but the guys doing it are doing a bad job. The steering with a G25 is terrible in Hot Pursuit..... wtf.... are they not testing games using a G25?

After an hour or so playing I have to say that you are actually not "steering" your car in this game, turning your car is a better description on how the car reacts when driving in this game. How in the world could they make a game that has no options of setting up your wheel to ones preferences? No adjusting is possible what so ever..... and Logitech is not even supported if you go buy it for PS3 - what the hell were they thinking?

The steering is like any other racing game in NFS, it's different and takes a little getting use too.. Poul,, I bought fraps...question why are my video's up sidedown?? I made a great video and the beach is up sidedown and do I lock my frame rate?? at any special fps?? Aaron's on vacation again and can't ask him..... The main complaint I've read is that the offline part of the game gets boring because there is no quick race feature where you get to pick the car and track. Instead you're stuck re-running a fixed set of career events.
The other complaints are that analog controllers don't work well on the PC version and the car physics (handling) isn't that good.

Damn Jeff you're right,,,wtf that's going to make it a little hard to do PBRC races, You can pick you're car but not the track.... It's almost like the took the 2002 version of Hot Pursuit and revamped it if the game at that time didn't have that feather then this version doesn't have it either..... It's almost like the took the 2002 version of Hot Pursuit and revamped it. Except the 2002 version of Hot Pursuit works fine with joysticks and wheels, and other than tournaments, there's no career mode, so all of the events are essentially quick race or quick pursuit modes. The only other NFS game to not have a quick race mode is NFS ProStreet (you can choose your car, but you're stuck with the race day events in the game). Based on the comments about steering issues and no quick race mode, I'm skipping an NFS title (HP3) for the first time. I'll be waiting for NFS Shift 2.

Instead you're stuck re-running a fixed set of career events. The other complaints are that analog controllers don't work well on the PC version and the car physics (handling) isn't that good. The no quick race thing is really stupid. There are mostly different tracks in online and career mode, so there is no way to practice on your own for online races. Also there is no chat in online game rooms, I have never seen this before, I really don't know how they could forget this or think it's not important. Traffic, collision and nitrous also can't be turned off and the hud and the music playlist can't be configured either. I really think they wasted a lot of potential by just not including all these simple things. Regarding controllers I also heard that wheels are not really supported but gamepads work well. The only thing is you have to "reconfirm" the key settings for it every time you restart the game. You don't have to redo them, they are saved but after a game restart you have to go to the controller options, redo one key and confirm again or they won't work. The handling is definitely different than in all previous NFS. I really like that it's finally well playable without a wheel again for the first time since Carbon but otherwise it is a bit strange indeed. You never have to use the normal brake. In the corners that can't be done with full speed you just tip the handbrake once and do a drift. The video sequences also get annoying after a while and they can't be skipped or turned off either. There are even crash sequences online, as you can see in this quick video I made on Wednesday checking out the online mode: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgPcejhyQ84The performance is pretty good for me normally, that lag in the video only came after the rendering, don't know why. Netcode also seems to be quite good compared to previous NFS.
