You already have the game? Wow, that's quite fast. Hope to hear some good news this year, and hopefully EA has finally pulled it off. Although, I don't like the fact that they moved away from the whole tuner and street racing hype, and instead brought the game to a new style of closed track racing. Although, who knows, may just be good for a change.
Although, like an old one of our friends said to me the other day, Docster - if you guys remember him - NFS Shift seems to be like an imitation of GT5.

So, I started the career... ...and got 1:06.660 from the initial test... ...and 0:56.750 with the new settings... ...and managed to secure $40,000 cash prize... ...but, I think I may need to change the settings, since the automatic breaking was very very annoying. Jussi

I haven't got the game set up for racing yet, look... ...and here's how low it goes with those settings... Jussi PS. I did get over 40 fps too, so there's no 30 fps capping on PC like someone suspected.

Isn't that anoying frame cap a result of the porting of the game from console to PC..? I was told Shift is designed for PC Bandit

OMG! I played around with the graphics settings a bit and my game started crashing every time I tried to do a race little after the start. It took me about 10 different settings and 10 restarts, before I finally checked my earlier settings from this thread and managed to get the game working again. Then I only dared to change one setting just to be sure. Here's what I'm running the game with now... Only thing different is the lower texture quality. Which didn't really help... ...but at least the game works again. Jussi

Dang, that HUD looks so cluttered and messy. If the gauges were a little neater it would looks a lot better. The BMW from the trial run looks sick though!

Hi Jussi!
I read somewhere that in in My Documents directory Shift creates, there is a Temp directory... It seems that deleting it and start fresh when you change the settings, allows a run free. Try it! :x
Cya!

You are still using that ATI 4850 right? I think ATI cards needs a driver update to run the game on high settings. If you read in EA forum, a lot of guys/girls are having problems with ATI cards and get low FPS as a result of that.
Keep an eye out for an update on your card or perhaps someone knows what is needed to make it run better.

Thanks for the advice guys! ...look what I've done to my car... The vinyl system is not very user friendly, but I still have to use it. Visual tuning is a big part of these racing games for me. Jussi PS. Looks a bit Dutch, doesn't it?

Somebody just told me he knows from a reliable source that the first patch is going to come tomorrow or Friday already and include lan mode into the game. Not sure if that will be the only thing it does though.
