i use a Logitech controller... prefer how it works in Undercover/Most Wanted...
I can't do a lot in World with accelerator and brakes being button 8 and 7 (R2/L2 on other controllers)... cause accelerator button hurts my finger in just ONE race.
can't do keyboard WASD/Arrow Keys with NFS games. just doesn't work out for me... hurts my hands/fingerS these controls...
guess i'll still stick to just playing MW/UC... sigh... i want to play World though, but not with the controls like that... (already sent a piece of feedback their direction)
even so, at least controller is working in World... last time i was on before today controller wasn't working at all...

Do you have you're controller setup in windows? in Windows XP inside the control panel there an icon called game controllers. You're controller has to be setup inside there? Is it? What model of logitech controller are you using? i use a Logitech controller... prefer how it works in Undercover/Most Wanted... You have to know what kind of controller you have.... is it a gamepad or a steering wheel? joystick I have a logitech G25 wheel and I have a logitech program loaded called the logitech profiler... if you have a logitech controller then you need to install the profiler in order to be able to play different games.... my comp is Vista controller on the back says Dual Action if that helps any... it works just fine in Undercover & Most Wanted.... it worked fine during World's BETA too... hmm... im not touching anything so long as its working on my other NFS games... i know, and logitech profiler is pretty much always on. nothing else in the USB plugs usually... if i meant a wheel i would have said wheel in there...
there isn't anything more i get to the controller (gamepad)... that in the small quote is it.

You should try to reset the USB, by un-plugging the USB controller from you're PC and then plug it back in... the controller should re-calibrate itself. You also might have to update you're logitech profiler software. What is the date on you're logitech profiler,,,just goto help inside the profiler and you should see a date code?? i know, and logitech profiler is pretty much always on. nothing else in the USB plugs usually... if i meant a wheel i would have said wheel in there... there isn't anything more i get to the controller (gamepad)... that in the small quote is it.

version 5.02 date: 04/04/08
and i've already tried that taking out putting back in... i definitely think it's, the problem is, on World's end and not mine, as right now i am playing Undercover with NO problems...
when i checked in Vista's controllers i went ahead and checked the properties for the gamepad (i always call those controllers, joystick & wheel are referred to as is), the button for updates was greyed out so... (maybe World's testing out various controls & that option soon enough wont be greyed out, it's possible...)
if your wondering, while i'm playing Undercover here the analog light isn't on. if i turn it on then car doesn't respond to the analog stick. same goes for World. works best OFF here... UC: gas is 2 and brake is 1, which is what i like... World: has gas at 8 (R2) and brake at 7 (L2), i can't do that... analog stick here doesn't seem to do anything until gas is pressed...

04/04/08 is too old,, You need to update it again... my version is 5.08 the logitech profiler is the same software for all logitech controllers that they ever made... Updated to the latest and greatest. version 5.02 date: 04/04/08 and i've already tried that taking out putting back in... i definitely think it's, the problem is, on World's end and not mine, as right now i am playing Undercover with NO problems... when i checked in Vista's controllers i went ahead and checked the properties for the gamepad (i always call those controllers, joystick & wheel are referred to as is), the button for updates was greyed out so... Where else would you expect to find updates for a logitech profiler? but logitech website. www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloadsYou said that NFS World online did support you're controller, So you need to update your logitech profiler in order to get you're controller to work,,, remember WO is a new game its 2010 version.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- where find updates? i looked already didn't really find anything, and besides its working fine right now in Undercover...

nother Edit: well buttons work but dont do what i want them to do... like 4 triggering nos, i rather my button 6 (R1) trigger that, which is look behind which i would rather on button 8 (R2) which is my accelerator at this time... and so on...

Remember WO a new game its 2010 version. But until the final beta, NFS World supported all analog controllers, steering worked, button 1 = throttle, button 2 = hand brake, buttone 3 = brake, button 4 = unused, button 5 = reset, button 6 = look back. This functionality was removed in the final beta and the released version of the game. They later added support for a specific list of controllers (like momo racing, g25, or g27 wheel), so now steering and throttle work, but brake is still a button. The work around I use is to rename my joystick OEM Name to "Logitech G27 Racing Wheel USB", then I map some of the buttons to key strokes using my controller software. Sometimes the keystrokes interfere with analog axis (I have to release and reapply throttle after pressing a key), but it's good enough for single player mode (I don't do multi-player mode).

Here you go Velocity follew these step and maybe fix you're controller problem... I would think if you have logitech profile installed then you could setup a profile for NFS-WO and re-map all you're controls..... Remember WO a new game its 2010 version. But until the final beta, NFS World supported all analog controllers, steering worked, button 1 = throttle, button 2 = hand brake, buttone 3 = brake, button 4 = unused, button 5 = reset, button 6 = look back. don't really want to do any remapping stuff, button 2 is my accelerator... simply, i'm just not going to lv up very fast in World... need to take longer breaks much sooner...
hmm, i like my Undercover more right now...
and i've looked, looking at it, don't get it... (logitech profile remapping stuffs) and in World button 2 triggers what World has it set to do, which is the bottom powerup... if World's controls option wasn't greyed out, thats where i'd fix that... that's what i do with my other NFS and so on games when controls are mixed up...
guess i'll stick to Undercover still, that works Normally. I'll be playing that so may be slow replying...
Edit: it's either bad controller settings or the keyboard, bleh i'd rather reconfigure the WASD/arrow keys to what i prefer. can't though, due to World's control option being greyed out...
Edit 2: in UC my accelerator (gas) was always button 2, and brakes was always button 1... same goes for MW playing MW with keyboard was no problem because i could go in the menu's Controls settings and pick what i wanted... so, i had it like so: Enter = Gas ] = Brakes/Reverse ' = steer Left CAPS = steer Right left alt = NOS Spacebar = Speedbreaker right alt = Handbrake (rarely used it though, same goes for the shift up/down) --------------------
pretty much that was it... so no arrow keys or WASD being using...

trying one thing, if this doesn't work then i guess i just can't play World unless they fix it... if they don't, then there isn't much i can do...
Edit: Nope, no affect. i mapped for exsample button 2 to keystroke W...
button 8 to some other key. for the attempt...
World still responds to button 8 as the accelerator. i need to change it through World's menu options, and you can guess what the problem is there... (can't cause its greyed out)
