My PC did that update last night, I left my PC on and went to bed,,, 30 mins later my PC rebooted at the wheel calibrated more than normal.. I jump up and thought what the hell is going on after it booted back up I thought damn I just installed the digital patch for shift 2 and it fu** up my PC... then I shut my PC off and went to bed... So I am glad to hear that it wasn't the patch that cause the wheel to re-calibrate so many times.... OMG, just had to install some updates for Windows 7. Like last time it would not update when you shut down the computer and then restart. If you get into trouble and the Windows 7 screen locks, then wait for it to do an override of the updates and then go to updates and press install - then restart. What is funny is the fact that my Logitech G25 wheel made 10 calibrations during the reboot - looked really funny with the stop and go. Poul

Uncheck that "Enable user defined software automatic control", Aaron. 70c is high, but not too high. But try out 100% fan speed, then crank up core to 900 and see if you crash. Only thing will happen, is that your Nvidia driver will have to reload if it is a no go. And fix those pictures, my screen is stretched to the limit. Poul I had it unchecked before, i was just trying out different things, its unchecked now but still says 75%. I think maybe the values are wrong or something. The fan is just as loud as my ATI cards and i always had them running at 100%. I also just ran laps in for benchmarks at 904 core clock and 938 core clock and temp never got above 54c, but... something else is happeneing that i dont understand. Here is the benchmarks i just did... @904 - 2011-05-11 10:03:47 - shift2u Frames: 13276 - Time: 216529ms - Avg: 61.313 - Min: 46 - Max: 77 @938 - 2011-05-11 09:52:56 - shift2u Frames: 14374 - Time: 236731ms - Avg: 60.719 - Min: 43 - Max: 95 Why are the averages going down? Do i need more voltage? or does the memory clock coincide with core and shder clock speeds? Edit- nevermind, i thought i started at 62 as the average but it was 60. Here is at 950 core clock - 2011-05-11 10:22:31 - shift2u Frames: 13873 - Time: 223190ms - Avg: 62.158 - Min: 49 - Max: 83 Temp still didnt go above 54c.

Well I think you are bottle necked by your CPU. Are you still running 4 Ghz on that? If so, try to run stock 3 Ghz or whatever it is by default, and see what bench numbers says then. Otherwise it could just be that I am actually running SLI, but that would be strange, because I see no indications of it. But running 950 MHz on stock voltage is very nice. You can check unlock voltage and then crank it up a little, then see what temps you get.

I agree, i dropped to 3.3ghz and fps average dropped to 56. Oh well, i postponed my vacation so maybe ill be able to get new board and cpu soon.
Thanks Poul!

This is very strange.... I disabled my other card and ran a bench again and this is what I got:
2011-05-11 17:04:57 - SHIFT2U Frames: 6882 - Time: 74850ms - Avg: 91.944 - Min: 79 - Max: 100
And the car is not handling like before - better brakes, but that I need to test again.
Sorry to hear if you are bottlenecked by your CPU Aaron, this must be the case or what? I have no idea why you are not getting more fps than me with that card you bought. We need to search for some sites that have run and tested Shift 2 with graphics cards to compare.

All right Aaron, I almost forgot about this test Tomshardware did last year. Now I can only imagine with these new cards things got worse. And remember it´s the CPU which does the Physx in Shift 2 - damn. Poul

I have a video card question... what are the better Shift 2 video settings?? With Vsync off I have a faster fps rate up too 120 and as low as 80 but I am experiencing video lag. With Vsync off I have a slower fps at 60 but no video lag... which of my settings is causing this problem???

If you do not play games much, buy one for $20. Because videocard prices should fall by Fall.

What the hell can you buy for $20.00 but a peice of junk...I play all the time and went back to racing with SHift 1, I have a GTX460 and it's only 10 month old and needing to be replaced already Getting tired of buying a new video card every year, I'll find another card for around $200.00 it's not worth paying more than that because it will only last a year anyways.... I might buy a GTX 580 like the one Aaron bought.... But I thought Poul might have a suggestion... If you do not play games much, buy one for $20. Because videocard prices should fall by Fall.

I did not know that you play a lot, otherwise I could send you my old 9800GT for free.
If you are planning to buy new powerfull card now, you need to think whether you will be able to play DirectX11 games with it. BF3 recommended specs are: OS: Windows 7 64-bit Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPURAM 4GB Video Card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850
So, I guess, we need to ask Poul for help, cause I do not think that videocards got cheaper since I bought my 560Ti TwinFrozer.

I guess you missed that thread awhile back but, Poul already help me put a new system together. i950 3.06 GHz Gigabyte UD7 motherboard SSD 80GB Intel X25.. d:\ 1TB Seagate HDD 6GB triple channell memory "1600Mhz" Palit GTX-460 800Mhz Water cooler Win 7 -64Bit 24" ASUS wide screen monitor So the video is giving me troubles right now and will most like change mfg to ATi in order to clear out any errors... but my last 5 video cards have all been NVidia I did not know that you play a lot, otherwise I could send you my old 9800GT for free. New system - Intel 2600K 3.4ghz cpu (quad core), Intel DP67BG motherboard, 4GB ram, ATI-XFX Radeon 6970 2GB video card, Creative X-FI PCI express Sound Blaster Titanium sound card, 3 Seagate Barracuda XT 2TB hard drives. Still using Viewsonic G225FB CRT monitor (20" viewable, 16" horz, 12" vert). Windows XP 32 bit (also have Windows XP 64 bit, but rarely use it).
Cpu can run up to 3.8ghz depending on core load. I don't know how to confirm this.
Still in the process of setting up this system, but I ran these benchmarks:
Lightmark 2008 - 1280x960 - 1193.8 fps, 1600x1200 - 1121.7 fps
Frybench (mostly a cpu test) - render time 5:33 (run time 5:41)
