That made a big difference, fps are now between 145 -195 fps All my video settings are on high and I also turned on shadow to high..... WOW its like racing new game... I posted those screen shots Poul on the previous page. Hey Sunny The reason why you run 60 fps in Shift is because you have VSynch ON - turn it off. Poul

A very impressive PC you got there Sunny - would love if I could borrow it, just to see how much I could squeeze out of it. Now here is a program for overclocking your GTX460, called MSI Afterburner. It is a great overclocking program, that allows you to raise the voltage even, but I do not recommend you try that just yet. It is however a fine tool for monitoring as well. event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htmPoul

I should wait a little while before OC anything,,, I need to figure out to tell what my CPU temp is..and how to monitor it I assume theres a utility or something...It would be nice to have a temp gauge for the liquid cooling.... I am getting between 195 and 325 fps while racing NFS-WO with max settings. I installed that afterburner program... it looks pretty cool but, I didn't touch anything... Here is a little program to tell you temperature - or wait - did you not install EasyTune from Gigabyte? That program has a Smart function, that allows you to manually set the fan speed of (is it a H70 you got?) - if it is cabled with PWM fucntion. You can also set it so that whenever the temperature gets above say 60C - then fan speed automatically increases to cool it down again. Here is temp monitor: www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/Real_Temp/Poul

Sunny I need to see a picture of CPU-Z showing the memory - you are likely running lowest default settings. What memory was it you got and what speed in MHz?
I will write in here what you need to do to change things as they are supposed to be, or maybe those who build it did that - we need to check.
I know about EasyTune 6 and its boost utility, but I do not recommend it. When you use that, you never know what it changes in BIOS and you could be running with too high a Vcore voltage or your memory settings could be off. Whenever you feel like overclocking I will tell you what settings to change. I would like to see what temperatures you are running in idle and at load too - the max safe temp for your CPU is roughly 70C at full load, but I have run much higher than that.

I bought Corsair 6GB x 3 triple channel 1600MHz memory I have question didn't you say when you had hyperthread enble it casued you're car to blink on and off in Shift? because my PC has it enble because I see 8 CPU's .........I'm going to go turn it off and see if that helps edit; I didn't see anything to do with hyperthreading inside my bios? damn where would it be hiding Sunny I need to see a picture of CPU-Z showing the memory - you are likely running lowest default settings. Are people telling you, that you lag? If so try go to the 1st page in BIOS on top, called M.I.T. and then "advanced CPU features" - there you will see something called "multi threading" - same thing.
Are you running 1600 MHz and what is your Uncore frequency? I need to see a picture of CPU-Z on the memory page?

thank you for the bios help, I found it..... here the picture you request, I also downloaded that realtemp 360 except the programs doesn't have an executable and I have no way to install it.. Well, how do you like it so far? How much faster is it than your old pc? When are you going to start setting records at wrecord?
Im back from one of the best vacations ive ever had. We were so far back in the mountains we couldnt here any cars on the road. Our cabin was beautiful, 5 bedrooms and 3 baths, 4000 square feet of living space, this place was huge! Only 10 minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Some of the most beautiful scenery ive ever seen, i recommend staying in that area to anyone. So much to do. We wanted to go on the Zip lines but ran out of time, next year hopefully. I took loads of pictures. I think the best part was seening all my nieces and nephews having so much fun, especially at Dollywood. I finally got to ride some roller coasters! Not the biggest coasters but still alot of fun!

Good one Aaron - setting WR´s in Shift is not as easy as it looks - despite having more fps than most people.
Sunny I see that the people who build your PC, did not bother to set the right memory timings for you or does your memory come with a XMP profile? You are only running your rated 1600MHz memory at 1066Mhz, because it´s set to default. You need to go into BIOS and change all this manually.
Do you know have to do this?

The people who built my PC left everything at default, SInce you mentioned what to change in the bios, I was able to find it, Now when the system boot up I see the memory at 1600MHz and the CPU speed being 3.2GHz. I re-ran Lightspeed 2008 and also got you another screen shot of the CPU-Z memory screen. As far as breaking any record I still need to get my wheel back to where it was with the older PC, I lost all my logitech profiles... check out my new LightSpeed benchmark with 1600 Mhz memory enabled Good one Aaron - setting WR´s in Shift is not as easy as it looks - despite having more fps than most people. Who goes camping in a 4000 sq ft cabin? You're cabin has more sq ft than my house. You're the only person I know who takes 5 vacations a year.... I should have been a heating and AC guy.... Did you take you're new girl friend with you to Tenn? Now that would make it a good vacation As far as fast it 10 times faster than my old PC, I'm getting frame rate in shift from 165 fps - 225-fps Well, how do you like it so far?
