The Gigabyte 465 GTX graphics card looks to run cool - still looking for a review, but it is set to stock speed and will perform like the rest of the pack. Maybe not as fast as the Radeon 5850, but that one is also a bit more expensive. I am not sure what card to recommend in the sub $300 category. But paying a little more you get the 5850 or do yourself a favor and try out Aaron´s card in SLI before buying a new card. 2x 250 GTS in SLI is pretty fast. Poul

What boards are those Sunny? Good choice on the CPU and I sure would have bought that one too. What about SSD? Will you try to see if you can find the OCZ Vertex 2? That is the one I would buy for sure, but it´s so popular you will have a hard time finding it. I would not just go with a conventional HD and install Windows 7 onto that though - you really should get a SSD like the Vertex 2 or an Intel X-25. But just wait until Aaron has bought his and lets us know of what he thinks. Most of the 1156 socket motherboards can not run in SLI or crossfire and NONE are able to run in 2 x 16 full lanes. You will get 2x x8 in best case scenario. I am not so sure you will like the Antec 902 when you see how flashy it is - you being an older man There will be blue led light constantly running - do not know if the top fan´s blue led light can be turned on/off like with the 1200 model. The HD assemble is not swrewless. It is a pain to install HD´s in this case, you will need to unscrew 30 screws or something like that. Well once you installed everything there is no need to unscrew all of them - only when you need to clean the front dust filters. Poul

With your pc right next to you, the blue lights will be annoying. I have mine on the floor and it lights up the whole floor in the room. Dont forget, alot of the power supplies now have lights in them that light up the case too.

I think I'm going to get the Antec 902 case anyways,,, I search and search last night looking at case after case after case. I didn't find anything I like really, except for that one.... I figure something else out maybe put it on the floor. Make sure I shut it off everynight, Still comparing mother boards now.
Aaron what SSD did you get? What size and model???

About the motherboard - great ones for sure but the UD6 is not worth the extra money campared to UD4P if you ask me, you need to save somewhere and getting the best motherboard is not needed. Do you even need some of the extra features the UD6 has? I think not.
What is on that list of yours now that you have been doing some reasearch?

Poor old buddy... I think you did the right thing, pay them crooks while you have the money. Still a good start... enough for case, motherboard and cpu.

It´s not that bad Sunny - waiting a few weeks - since we are seing something new from Intel on the market now. 1155 socket based on Intel´s 6-series chipsets. Read this article I saw at Techpowerup: www.techpowerup.com/124273/Intel_Sandy_Bridge_Quad-Core_Processor_Tested.htmlWhen I am done today around 19.30 PM I will have worked 61 hours this week, which really left very little time for me to play that new Star Wars game I just bought. I was kind of bored today and wanted to see if my old CPU was still good enough to be able to compete against all these new processors from Intel. I am very pleased with this overclock of 4.4 GHz using nothing but air cooling. Even more so seeing it was stable when running Furmark with a highly overclocked graphics card as well. Temperatures of CPU and graphics card are quite good I would not recommend anyone trying this since it involved such a HUGH 1.46 vcore on the CPU, but I have tried as much as 1.51 V and still it survived He he my good old hardware still functions and are up for the tasks - no need to upgrade this year - maybe a new graphics card though Poul

Sweet! Do you use aftermarket fans or the one that came with your case? Is there any certain brand of fans that are better than the others? I wasnt planning on ungrading this pc, but i wouldnt mind installing better fans if possible. My temps are not bad, but i forget to clean the dust out sometimes and figured it wouldnt hurt to keep things a little cooler

Hey Aaron Are you using the stock cooler on your CPU still and do you have the processor overclocked? If it´s still overclocked no wonder it gets a bit hot in your case with that graphics card too. Fans for an aftermarket cooler for your CPU tested the other day - link here: www.overclockers.com/65-fans-tested-megahalems/Do you have the option of controlling speed on your case fans? If not then my guess is they are not moving that much air if they are the ones that came with the case. What case do you have? I think that recommending a case fan is not the same as for a cooler - how much noise do you want and what are the ones in your case producing now - roughly - and are they very quiet and do you not mind adding a notch since you probably can not hear them for the stock cooler on your 4890? What then if you are not gaming? My case when everything fired up sounds like it´s lifting itself from the Small table where it stands Poul
