what is your average fps in Heaven DX11 Bench I don't have windows 7, I'll try this later with DX9 and Windows XP if that's an option.

Please, try it with DirectX9.
I also use WinXP, and I have an old system Phenom 2 X4 925 running same MHz as 970 version + NVidia560Ti TwinFrozer
I was thinking about upgrading my CPU about 2-3 months to the new Intel i3 or i5 for the NFS Run if I won't be able to run it smooth when maxed out.
So, I wanted to compare how much slower my system is because of the weak CPU.

The problem with the driver "not responding" is something everybody experience with these new drivers and Fermi cards. What you can do is crank up the core voltage using MSI Afterburner (but do so in small steps - like one notch at a time), then test again. It could be a temperature problem, but likely it is because it wants more voltage. Mine crashes too if I leave it at stock settings and while using MSI Afterburner set to auto. It can because in auto it takes too long for the fans to respond when heating, and that can result in a crash, or simply because it does not get enough voltage. You will have to test that to see what causes your crash. I have been playing a lot of Mass Effect 2 and it always crashes if I forgot to crank up voltage and fans RPM. I too can have my PC lock up, but usually it is the driver not responding and pressing control - alt - delete, I can manually shut down the game and then start again. There is no point in buying a new card until Kepler - the codename for Nvidia's next GPU architecture (28nm manufacturing process) comes out sometime in 2012. It should have been late 2011, but Nvidia has confirmed they will launch sometime (early?) 2012. Then there is AMD's Southern Islands HD 7000-series GPUs, but nobody knows when we will see these, they should be in production but I don´t know if that is true. Anyway, test what I suggested and keep your card until the new faster ones are out. Poul

After searching NVidia support site with my error message I quicky found out this is a Win7 -64bit error message and not a video card failure... wahoo I don't have to buy a video card..... I did find this resolution on Microsoft support site on how to fix it.... There are few different method's to fix this problem so I started with the easy method first, see if it works before going to the next fix.. I enter this command in first at a command prompt "powercfg -X -monitor-timeout-ac 0" support.microsoft.com/kb/2501816

Running 3.6 GHz with Turbo boost enabled and two 460´s in SLI and same settings as rcgldr in Heaven Benchmark. So CPU time (frybench) is about the same, but your dual video cards really sped up the graphics. The Intel 2600K only goes to 3.8ghz if most of the cores are idle. The frybench test runs all the cores, so the 2600K should be stuck at 3.4ghz. I haven't installed any of the Intel utitlies that let me monitor whats going on.

Ok, Guys, I ran the test, and, actually, I have a Phenom 945 and not 925, but it is a slow CPU anyway, even after my conservative overclock to 3,5 GHz. But what surprised me most, is that I used the same settings as you guys: 1600*1200, 8AA, 16x AF, but I got a very decent framerate in this test. Here are my Afterburner settings for TwinFrozer. I know, some guys run 1Ghz, but I prefer stability and speedy memory: What do you think about it? Is it because this test is very GPU oriented?

Poul your theory about this issue is the most likely cause, I have applied 5 different so called patches an I still have the same problem,,, Can I increase voltage with a demo copy of that MSI after burner??? with default video settings I can race shift 1 & 2 fine,,, I am having problems play a game through a browser,,, using Firefox and it keeps crashing,,, if I restart my PC after an error message pop up,,, it will take up to 2 hours before the error will happen again.. The problem with the driver "not responding" is something everybody experience with these new drivers and Fermi cards. What you can do is crank up the core voltage using MSI Afterburner (but do so in small steps - like one notch at a time), then test again. There is no demo version of MSI Afterburner - all features are available. event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htmOnce installed - under settings you can unlock voltage control and monitoring. Whether it is a higher RPM you need during gaming or more voltage is something you need to test yourself. Start by raising fan speed to 100% and play the game you crash in, to see if lowering temperature helps. If you crash, then you raise voltage.... Do not be afraid to use 1.087V - it won´t melt your card, as long as you also remembers to use higher fan speed. Have you only crashed in games played through browsers? Dimitrikhoz, those numbers are very good.....
