Post your afterthoughts of the Beta here. I'll make a similar thread at ea forums.
Cars I used for "career" - Charger, Elise, BMW. I redid "career" about 5 times. Last "career" run took 2 hours 10 minutes (from create driver to level 10). I did these not using any nitrous. The last run ended up with 90 shots of nitrous. Some of the higher level single player events require nitrous in order to win, but I didn't run these during "career".
Once unlocked, Lincoln Blvd was the track to use career and to get nitrous powerup, since it only took about 1:40 in Elise, 1:25 in BMW.
The Beta started 8 hours early, Friday, 1:00 am California time, and ended at least 8 hours later than scheduled. My last time online was around Monday, 8:00 am California time. I left over 100 shots of nitrous for each of the 3 "drivers" I ended up with.
The number of level 10 players was somewhat sparse on Friday, but by Sunday most of the players were at level 10, which made the online racing more competitive. I was mostly doing single races, pursuits, exploring, and trying the different cars, in an effort to provide better feedback of the Beta.
My opinions - The traffic magnet feature was a bit annoying, but a few players got around this by maxing out pursuit ram powerup, which minimized the effects of traffic. The nitrous was hard to get, making players reluctant to use it compared to previous NFS games. Although I had a lot of nitrous, it didn't seem fair to exploit it, and the post race stats seemed to encourage minmal usage of it. I prefered the fixed duration of nitrous per race, similar to how it was done in NFS Carbon. In the case of NFS World, instead of running your best laps, you manage resources based on how fast the other players are. The cars were slower than their Most Wanted or Carbon counter parts; which probably made them easier to drive with keyboard or gamepads.
