I reinstalled ATi Driver, but it did not help. Then I un-installed Most Wanted and Underground and got the game to run right when I launched it from the DVD's autorun menu. Let's see if it now works from my shortcuts too?
PS. I have no idea what exactly is causing that graphics bug...
I got the game running by going to administrator user on my Vista and launching the game from Start » Games, but why does it now show FPS on the top right corner of the screen during all menus and loading screens (not during racing)?
The left FPS comes from Fraps. I had to use Fraps, cos Xfire didn't work when I launched the game from Start » Games. If I launch the game from desctop shortcuts or Xfire, I get those artefacts.
Anyway, here's my time with the Porsche I posted before. It's a crappy time from just one run, but I'm more interested in finding out what causes this problem than trying to get a faster time that undoubtedly puts me on last position anyway.
I really feel sorry for you my President and hopefully we can get this sorted out. I understand you reinstalled the game, but did you also manually delete all NFS files and only made a backup of your career file and renamed it? I think the game uses all the old files also after reinstalling and if your config graphics file has a bug, then it will continue to do so. Try deleting everything related to NFS in your folder manually and then run CCleaner and scan registry and fix the issues. Then you can reinstall the game and if that does not work I think it is a driver issue where you should try deleting all your old driver versions and install one you know worked before.
It's amazing how blind and stupid one can be. I still have no idea what caused the problem, but it got ultimately fixed by putting all possible settings in Catalyst Control Center to defaults (I had had them all on High Quality, except for AA and AF settings).
Anyway, the game seems to work now. At least I could do another run...

PS. I'll see if I can get some proper runs done later after I get some more sleep...

I'll see what I can do tomorrow, have been busy getting (looking for) a 'new' car, my old one broke down last week. Bought a 'new' one today, which I can pick up in a couple of days. It's a 1996 Renault Mégane hatchback.

Tonnzzaah (PC/360/PS4): Haven't it been quite dead for a while now? It's really a shame, as back when this was awesome place to hang out, and, well. I did stop being that active here, as unfortunatelly I kind of lost my love towards Need For Speed games. It's a shame, really...

CmdrTomalak (PC/PS3/PS4): Yep. Dead. Dead. Dead... Somebody should put it out of its misery. It all started waaaaaay back when Most Wanted came out and we all met on the EA forums and decided to branch out on our own. Sad way to go...

Tonnzzaah (PC/360/PS4): And unfortunately, the way Need For Speed games were for quite long time didn't help this place at all, for starters, I dropped off from NFS games completely. I did get both Shifts, Hot Pursuit (2010) and later Rivals, but they weren't enough...

Chandrian: I don't know how many of you know, but for a while, NFS World has worked very well on a public online server (probably a month or more since it became more stable), containing over 150k registered players.
Sept 7, 2018 14:15:36 GMT
Chandrian: The sync is now allowing races with more than 2 players, and pretty much all original NFSW features are working. The best part is that everything is available for in-game cash on this server.

Chandrian: You have to start with a new driver profile, but the progression isn't that hard. If you wanna play NFSW online again, then I advise downloading the launcher of this online server and also joining this Discord server:
