Hi, it tried to google for it, but could not find what I was looking for, so I guess I need to do it myself... The idea is to add official add-on-cars and the factory-mode-prize-cars to evolution mode. I already figured out how it's done. Now I only need to make a list of everything that needs to be changed in order to succeed. Here's a picture of the factory car in used cars section... It's not available as a new car, but you can find it as used one. I did this by setting the car's year to 1972, which is between evolution years. In 1973 the car is not available in shop, but can later be found as a used car. Pretty cool, aye? Now I need to sort out what races 959, 928 GTS, 911 GT2 and 911 GT3 should be allowed to enter. Jussi

I did evolution mode first, then factory driver mode next, ending up with the factory driver cars in my evolution garage, that plus winning a second GT1 resulted in an 84 car garage, although the "enhanced" fix for NFSPU that I posted in the other thread allows 84 cars, so the order no longer matters.
Although I can use the factory driver cars in generic events, I don't think the factory RS could be used in the RS specific event. My guess is that event looks for a specific car code.
Those other add-on cars have terrible grip. Maybe tuning will help it a bit. There's some mod that lets you put all of the cars into career mode, including the cop versions of cars.

I need to edit the .car-file to put the cars in the career mode and then edit the .sav-file to allow them in the races. Do you know if modifying the XXDefXX.sav would make the changes in all future new .sav-files?XXDefXX.sav can not be modified, so I need to make a fresh savegame to go along with this modification. The mod is coming along nicely... I'm just wondering, if these add-on cars should only be available as used cars and not as new. Since there may not be any races they could be allowed in when they were first released? Jussi

Just few notes to myself...
1. "buyable at dealer" means that car is available for quick races as factory stock car. I want to use this setting for "add-on cars".
2. Setting enter and exit year to something other than Evolution mode years, will make car only available as used car. I want to do this to all 3 "prize cars" (at least).
Although, it might also make career mode more interesting if the shop always only had the cars released in that specific year. Could also be frustrating to hunt down the '62 356 B 2000 GS Carrera 2 for example.
3. While am at it, I might as well switch the '59 cars to some '56 models in the tournament that takes place during 1956. (That always bugged me a bit.)

By the way, 928 GTS is useless against the AI cars in Modern Era Class 2 Trophy race. Also found a bug, where 2000 911 Turbo was admitted to 911 Anniversary Cup (which is a non-turbo race). More notes... Add-on and race cars: 959 = Turbo, AWD - put in '87 944 tires GT1 = Turbo GT2 = Turbo (993) RWD - put in 993 parts, if needed Moby Dick = Turbo 928 = non-turbo - put in '89 944 engine, sway bars and tires GT3 = non-turbo (996) RWD - put in 996 parts, if needed Spyder = non-turbo Jussi

I need to put couple of AI guys in 928's in that Class 2 Trophy event and I think I may have to detune the other AI cars a bit too... Jussi

I've got this Class 2 Trophy event sorted (sort of)... I need to put AI drivers 1 and 2 in '91 stock Turbo's and AI drivers 3 and 4 in 928's. I came up with a better deployment plan... White and Grey cars are 928's and Beige and Orange car are '91 Turbo's with Stage 4 Turbo and Professional brakes, springs and shocks. Other cars are as they were. Leadfoot is now the dominant racer who no one can touch, but rest of the grid is more even. This way some skilled driver may have a chance in this tournament with the 928. If someone complains that the tournament is too easy after that, they can try to run it with 928 or stock 911's and then reconsider. Jussi PS. I need someone to test this with me.

I still don't see how you are going to fix the low grip issues with the add-on cars. From what I remember all 4 of them were terrible. Unless you like bouncing off walls, those cars weren't fun to drive.

I'm not sure I should be fixing it, since EA made the cars. I thought 928 was pretty nice to drive, except for being terribly slow compared to upgraded 911 Turbo's. I think the problem with the grip may be caused by the fact that the add-on cars seem to use slick tires. At least 928 does have '98 GT1 Slick as the only tire option. Jussi PS. Looks like it's possible to add parts to cars with the editor I'm using (like you did with your .car file).

Hmm... 928 uses some parts from the Boxter as well, maybe I should add those to available parts. Thanks for the idea. Jussi

Ach Scheiße! EA's boys have fitted the 928 GTS with '00 Boxter 3.2 L Engine, but the real car had a 5.4 L Engine. It has also been the fastest model at the time and in the game it's really sucky. Need to fix this... Jussi

Oops, I don't know how to make new parts... I guess I have to stick with underpowered Engine from the future. Jussi

I have an idea... I'm gonna swap the Engine parts and Tires of 928 from GT1 parts to '89 944 parts. After all, 928 certainly does not have a boxer engine and since EA did not make a V8, the 944 engine will have to do. I think it may be the only modern non-boxer engine they put in the game. And the tire swap thing gives us a choice of 3 tires, instead of 2. I think I'll also add the 944 sway bars to 928's parts, since there aren't any ATM. Jussi
