Take a look at the youtube video thread in the Shift video forum here. In some of the videos the cars are very smooth, almost no bouncing. I'm using no head shake and no blur mods, and it doesn't end up looking as smooth as some of those youtube videos. I also wonder if grip is being affected, but it's too hard to tell from the videos, as cornering speeds may vary by a few mph or kph even by the same player on different runs. In previous threads about this, some players seem to get better lap times with traction control set to high, and steering assist set to low. I tried this and it didn't help, but to my surprise, it didn't seem to hurt times either, except at Willow Springs, where all assists off, or at least steering assist off, is faster. There was some question if gamepad players had an advantage, but looking at the stats, the wheel players are dominating at most tracks, and it's very close at the other tracks. Lastly there's the grip bug (Cipriani called it a speed bug, but mentioned that his cornering speeds were 10kph or so faster in his 5:55 run at Nordshleife with the MC12), and it's not clear if there's some subtle variation of the grip bug. In the most recent issue of AutoSimSport (volume 5, issue 3), the Shift developers mention that tire temperatures are modeled in NFS Shift, but there's no way to find out what these temperatures are in the game. www.autosimsport.net/index2/index.php

Hello. I've already read about this phenomenon in some other forums (unhappily forgot their names) Speedbuck is one really irking thing occuring once on Nordschleife ,as I did a 6:06 with DBR9 I've also heard from one player ,that the gamepad offers more grip( 1.0 with weel to 1,2 with pad?) ,but I personally dont think so.The steering assist off is a nogo for me ,I cant even drive so:p.. Tire temperatures? Is that noticable? Cheers ,Ses

Tire temperatures? Is that noticable? Where I notice it the most is I have to brake a bit sooner than normal for the first hair pin at Brands Hatch, which is why I suspect a lot of players go wide there on lap 1. On cars that tend to oversteer easily, like the works Z06, the car is a bit more squirrely (likely to spin) on lap 1 than it is on later laps. Probably should continue this in the other thread, which has many more posts: isrc2.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=nfss&action=display&thread=507
