Hi there! I got invited here by a member. After thinking about it I'm now considering joining the picture based competitions for NFS Shift. (mainly because I'm getting sick of chasing lap times in EA-leaderboards and being surrounded by so many cheaters)
Is there a FAQ or something like that? What should I know?
Are there any confirmation/check up's or do you all just trust each other since it's just pictures? Or perhaps you are all using the wrecord stuff and making confirmations through that?
I was also told theres a inner circle-thingy where you share your tunings for different cars, which might be my weakness, especially when it comes to lower ratings than unrestricted. Could I get my hands on that before the first competition, thus using it for that?
Do we know in advance what competitions are coming up? Are they all open one month?
And so on and so on ... you get the idea heheh =)

It's not always one month but if you don't play any other games than Shift there should be well enough time for you to practice for all of them. In the title of the topic it always says the ending date of the competition. That inner circle thing is really existing but you shouldn't expect them to let you in there. Even some people who have been regular and active members for almost a year are not allowed entrance. For some reason they want to hide setups and even stuff like controller settings from the public as if some kind of problems could be caused if everybody could see them. Regarding the confirmation you should just check some of the previous competitions to see what kind of screenshots need to be posted. Apart from them you aren't really forced to post anything, although some of the best players like to show videos of their runs as well. WRecord is not being used here. It's not possible because it only saves your overalls record on each track and not the record for each car or car rating.

I dont play other games, but some months I probably wont have the time to participate. Oh so not all that compete get access? I think all information should be free, no matter what. But I wont try to make the rules here. But if youre the best, youre the best no matter what and dont need secret tweaks. I actually have a youtube channel here: www.youtube.com/user/MrTomasT123Not updated in a while though, I've done better at all these tracks now, will probably update some in the coming days when I have some free time. =) Looking forward to the good competition here and to learn and get fasterrrrr =) Thanks for the welcomes and your answers. Welcome Tomas , Read through the threads in Shift PBRC competitions to get an idea how we do things. You will be allowed to see the inner circle after you participate in one of the competitions. The inner circle is only allowed by PBRC contestants in hopes more will join our comps. Rules are simple, you need a pic of car selected for race and a pic after the race with car and total time, no wall riding, no shortcuts unless game allows it, and no trainers or any cheats. Some of us post video to help others, but posting a vid is not mandatory. Good luck and have fun!

Hey TomasT - I am glad you decided to join us. You will get access to the inner circle thread - just like all others joining the PBRC´s and there are some setups that are very track specific, but remember that some of us use a G25 wheel and I know you use pad, so those ones might not suit you. Still post a time in the next competition and let us see how it goes.

Welcome on board, Tomas! Is there a FAQ or something like that? What should I know? I don't think we really have a FAQ (yet). Are there any confirmation/check up's or do you all just trust each other since it's just pictures? Or perhaps you are all using the wrecord stuff and making confirmations through that? We do really just operate on trust. Our best players are so amazingly good, they would spot any cheaters, if we had any. Plus it's mandatory to share the best setups in our Inner Circle, which should give everyone an equal opportunity to chase after the best results. I was also told theres a inner circle-thingy where you share your tunings for different cars, which might be my weakness, especially when it comes to lower ratings than unrestricted. Could I get my hands on that before the first competition, thus using it for that? I'll set you up with "PBRC Contestant" rank and Inner Circle access as soon as I see an entry from you in one of our competitions. So, if you enter now to the next competition, you should have time to check the "secret" setups for faster entries, before the competition closes. Do we know in advance what competitions are coming up? Are they all open one month? All competitions should be open over 2 complete weekends. Everyone sees the competitions when they get posted on the board and not before hand. It's same to everyone, except maybe the person who posts them. Jussi

Did I just not notice before or did these four open competitions come up at the same time? Thats a little much with 4 competitions in a month for me. Are they counted together and finalized as total score at end of month? In that case theres not any point participating in anything less than all of them? All competitions should be open over 2 complete weekends. Everyone sees the competitions when they get posted on the board and not before hand. It's same to everyone, except maybe the person who posts them. Jussi

Hey TomasT
You can see when Aaron posted these competition threads and once posted you can submit a time. Our current Shift PBRC which ends 3rd January you will have little trouble doing, because its a stock max 6.0 car you need to use and this means you do not need to test setups or tuning.
And yes points are given depending on how many participants submitted a time and its the total points that determines who wins that months race series. And again you are right about having to participate in all of the competitions to stand a chance of becoming the months best racer, but see this as fun and something you might even become a better racer from.

I'll try to get the time for that one, the other ones I might have time for. I work nights so believe it or not, having the time to even turn my game on until the third I'm not sure of.
It's all good and fun, but I'm most enjoying racing my friends online I think, with this game.
I wont post any times 10 seconds slower than others though without any practice, I'm just too competetive for that. =)
Well, good luck all and perhaps I'll get the time to post something this weekend.

Jussi PS. These competitions would be stupid, if only the top 3 drivers were posting their incredibly fast times. I wish there was someone for me to compete with...

Lol Jussi! I really didnt mean any disrespect. I'm sure I'm not the best trying to beat VGSpeedPro or Cipriani. But 10 seconds slower than I could do, that wouldnt be fun for me. You see these guys really anal about the racing line, practicing to get it exactly right. Sure, thats my thing too, if I had the time for it. But just doing a quick race on short notice and not doing my best, thus losing, I'm such a competitive nature. =)
As it is, I'm dominating the online play in this game, at least on the hours I play. I never see any of the super fast racers online, which I would like. But coming from that, and posting times that are bad for me, I'm sure you understand isn't that rewarding.
And sorry, but since I enjoy the social aspect of racing online, probably more than being moderate at posting lap times here, theres no point for me to participate which would take time from doing something I enjoy more.
But if I get the time for it I will post something, and if I dont get the time for participating in all events thus losing big from that, I probably wont keep trying either.
