In my opinion, nothing can touch the Stingray in a 10 rated class.

I got a big GPU problem recently...and I'm afraid I won't be able to race at the near future at least. Everything started few days ago when my card started to overheat without any obvious reason. Cooler works like always but temperature increases very fast until it freezes the whole system. I removed all the dust, even opened the case and it seams the temperatures are within allowed range now (unfortunately none of monitoring software is able to measure my GPU temperature, really dunno why) but lockups still remains. I can't drive for more than a few minutes. I'll try some other game today and see if it's only Shift related. HELP! my spec is: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2046MB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 512MB Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3

Geez, must be an pc epidemic going around. We should call it N1H1(No 1 Has 1 - that works) Sorry to here Bobby. It could be ram, or PSU or videocard going bad. If you have any extra of these laying around, try replacing each one and see what helps. If not, i would start with replacing your ram, its cheap and easy to replace. Power supplies do go bad after a while, i would replace it next if its not the ram. Your videocard doesnt show all the temp because it is a non-reference card, like i have . Non-referenece doesnt have all the temp sensors like a reference card would have.

I am testing this track now using the Stingray. I can not understand why Aaron is so fast online using that car, but now i see that I did not use the right parts. I tried Aaron´s setup, but I then tried Rogerio´s suggestion to race parts and those suited me even better.
I think I can do under 2.50 here - let us see.

I will upload a video of my 2.49.620 - perhaps watching that will help improving his/her time. I could do it a little faster if I cut the tracks more - how much is even allowed here? I think 2 secs could be gained by cutting the inside. Poul 2.49.620 - Grnkjr0 - Corvette Stingray - 9.87

If not, i would start with replacing your ram, its cheap and easy to replace. Power supplies do go bad after a while, i would replace it next if its not the ram. Power supply is brand new (not quite new, few months to be precise) and I doubt it's the memory 'cause I forgot to mention I got the screen full of artefacts just before the lockup. I'm quite certain it's GPU related, but it seams it works well with Race On, for example. Of course it's not even close graphically demanding as Shift so I guess I will install GTA IV again and see what happens.... thanks for tryin' to help anyway! Don't have any spare money left after Xmas holidays so this must be a sign to pay more attention to some real simulations. Oh yeah, Shift was such an eye-candy game but I guess I'll play Race On from now on... Your videocard doesnt show all the temp because it is a non-reference card, like i have . Non-referenece doesnt have all the temp sensors like a reference card would have. That's strange, since my OLD 8600GT card apparently had these sensors....

Well the square blocks I had yesterday too and they come just before your game locks up. Mine comes from overclocking for sure and I usually just use Rivatuner and step down 3-4 MHz on the core clock to avoid this. Here is an update: I will upload the video of this sometime later tonight. Poul 2.48.460 - Grnkjr0 - Corvette Stingray - 9.87

Does anyone know if the tires make any difference at all and perhaps even could tell what would be the difference between different ones and sizes and so on.. Looks like Grnkjr drives with the standard ones.
