Wow, just raced a godlike99kings(what a name ) and he is an obvious cheater and an a-hole. Racing at Dakota Tri oval, he waited till the last corner of the last lap to pass me(of course!) and beat me by 5 seconds! He had to going 50mph faster than me when he passed me and i was going 180mph and it wasnt lag. My best lap was 29.80 in a CCX and his was 28.66 in a Zonda which had to be on the last lap. The Zonda is not capable of going that fast on that track. Then after the race, he started going on about me being a cheater! SOB had me so mad, i had to quit playing! Im calm now. Whatever hack or trainer he was using, his accel and top speed are way better than what they should be.

Wow, just raced godlike99kingz ... Dakota Tri Oval ... 28.66 in a Zonda ... me being a cheater He's accused a lot of players of cheating, seems to be random. I saw him run 27.xx at Dakota. He doesn't try to hide it either normally. I saw him running a Dodge Charger in a 4.0 event, a Zonda R in a 14.0 event, and he was ramming all the other players in races. He did this for about 15 or 20 minutes before quitting. My guess is he's a angry drunk. Then to add to the mess, Red Arrow joined in for 2 or 3 more races, then they both left. Personally it just added a new twist to the online racing. The goal became to see how much the other players could ram him instead of racing, sort of a destruction derby. Most of the players kept on racing in this group for about 10 to 15 minutes, no one was racing anymore, just trying to ram or block him. Since it was clear we really couldn't slow him down much with all the cheats he was using, the players that kept on playing must have been having fun with the novelty of the destruction derby. Another annoying group of players are TB3Chucky and his TB3 clan pals. They team ram other players, apparently just to annoy other players. The last time I saw this was a clan named VRE that did the same thing with NFS Porsche Unleashed (with collision and damage on). Usually the TB3 clan runs 14.0 at Nordschleife and are only online for an hour at a time, generally on the weekends around GMT +20:00 (noon in California, 8 pm in the UK, 9 pm in Europe, ...). Their fastest player is TB3Chucky, so if you see them online, be sure to target TB3Chucky. I'd like to be in a race where godlike99kingz and TB3 were in the same race, just so I could watch him ram all the TB3 clan players. On the other hand sometimes destruction derbies can be fun. In NFS High Stakes there was an online Knockout mode where a group of 8 player ran in 7 races. The "loser" of each race ended up driving a large dump truck for the purpose of ramming the remaining racers in the following races. Normally the dump trucks drove the tracks in reverse. In the final race, you had 6 trucks and 2 racers, and there was a tight tunnel that a single truck could completely block if sideways, so a few would fill that tunnel. A racer could eventually get through by resetting which turned collision off for a few seocnds. Carbon had a simlar thing but it was just a single race where the loser of each lap ended up driving a fast police car to ram the remaining racers. These events were fairly popular.

something strange was going on the other night when i was racing online.
running up against RedArrow on the nurburgring. the previous 4-5 races i was infront of him and winning the races.
now this race at nurburgring, we were both running fairly close ( under 1 sec behind). then all of a sudden he pulls over in the grass ( about half way through) and sits there for around 45-50 seconds.
after that, he was gaining on me like i wasnt even moving. i won the race by about 9-10 seconds.
i know that he cheats, but i find it strange that he was running at around the same speed as me through out most of the night :/

Either my timing is bad for when I play online or most of the faster players have quit playing NFS Shift. It could be due to the holiday season Well the holiday season is over, and during USA evening times, the online play is fairly sparse. It's rare to find competitive races, unless I use a relatively slow car to handicap, and then there's still the issue of only seeing 3 to 5 players in most races. I've kind of lost interest now. My guess that as usual, consoles have taken away a large part of the potential USA market, and that most of the PC based online play occurs outside the USA, and outside my normal gaming time, except on the weekends, but then I'm usually outside. I've updated my savegame to add the 71 Challenger for 6.0, and there have been 266 downloads this month, but I don't know how many of these people that downloaded nfss.zip will go online. On a side note about downloads from my web sites, looking at my stats, the #1 download at rcgldr.net was a video from GTR2, the Saleen at Donington with over 1100 downloads for January. rcgldr.net/gtr2/gtr2donsln.wmvEven though I no longer have any direct links at jeffareid.net (all of the links at jeffareid.net go to rcgldr.net), there are still forum links causing activity. The #1 download there is from GTR1, a run at spa with over 2000 downloads for January. jeffareid.net/gtr/gtrspa.wmvThe #2 download is a savegame for World Racing 2, a little known racing game made by Synetic, with 741 downloads. #3 is a savegame for NFS U2, with 664 downloads. There isn't a lot of activity with my youtube videos, with the exception of the master last corner video (Karusell at Nordschliefe), which is over 13,000 views now. www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9OmRpLKdRs&fmt=22

i'm still attracted to the online racing, but i'd really like to have another couple of online runs with RCGLDR and other fast players before i call it quits. the big graphics card issue has had me sidelined for around a month now. so i'm keen for some runs when i'm back online again.
