Someone mentioned that in car view seemed faster, but I suspect that the difference in view is causing players to brake just a bit later than normal.
I'm wondering if having the racing line on or off is affecting game play. Perhaps VGSpeedPro could do some experiements with this.
For online play, I use racing line and hood view because thse involve running different cars and tracks, (sometimes glitched cars), so I use the racing line color change as braking markers).

Im not sure if in-car view has more grip or better controller input or what, but something is different about it. While practicing for our Glendale West comp. yesterday, i was getting better lap times with in-car view. The first corner, i can tell a difference. Hood view, i drift around it squealing the tires the whole corner, always dropping below 90mph. While in-car view, very little tire squeal and can hold 90mph + almost every time. The chicane in the second half of the track, in between the 2 short straights, is another example. With hood view, i screw up half of the time and hit the rumble strips and start boucing really bad and end up in the dirt. With in-car view, i make that chicane perfect over 75% of the time. It seems to me the car is more stable using in-car view. The difference isnt extreme but its definetly noticable. Some cars its more noticable that others.

Hi!
I think what Aaron is experiencing has to do with brake points... In-Car we tend to brake earlier then in Hood view, and that is why we usually enter better in corners using Cockpit. At least is what it seems to me! ;P

PS: I am going to submit a video in Nord doing 5m 56s. You will see there what I mean... Or at least I can see it! :x

How would brake points have to do with the fact that his car has more stability with in-car view? You are not braking at any point before that jump. I too feel a difference with car stability after that jump. It has to do with the fact that it does not matter how your car lands after that jump onto the rumble strips - you will keep your speed and you will not lose control like it happens so often in hood view.

This could be a possible system sensitivity issue, like ATI versus nVidia or the speed of the video card or system. With in car view, there's less stuff to render, since the interior of the car doesn't change, and only a portion of the view includes the outside view which is constantly changing. In hood view, there more of the outside view to render. I'll have to try this again. When I was hot lapping, I was using in car view, but for online play, I use hood view. I recently made a video using hood view of with a 14.0 (13.97) Spec V at Willow Springs: rcgldr.net/nfss/nswssv14.wmv
