Seems to be the fastest so far, but due to some quirk, it gets a lot of tire spin in higher gears if you try to shift too fast (autoclutch off), or use nitrous. You can tap the nitrous though which helps a bit. I only tested at Brands Hatch GP. I could run a bit under 1:39 after a few tries with the RX5, but with the Elise or 350Z I was over 1:41.
You can install most parts, ignoring the brakes if I remember correctly.

Hey Jeff
Sign up for our next competition and see if you are right about that car. You could only do that one race if you do not wanna do the whole series. But my bet is that it will always depend on the track which car is the fastest. There are no "super" cars in each tier - it seems.

I assume you mean a lap time? Or is it 1 lap only?

First, i agree with Poul about depending on the track, which car is fastest . Yesterday, i started testing MX5, 350Z, 240SX and Cobalt for our next PBRC race at Brands Hatch Indy. I didnt change setups on 350Z or Cobalt from our last competetion but i did change some things on the MX5 and 240SX after i upgraded them. So far, the Cobalt and 350Z had the best times by a second per lap, with the Cobalt being the fastest. With all the upgrades you can install on the MX5, it might compete but i still think the Cobalt will be the car to beat. It handled terrible in my testing, so i know it can be much faster.

Hey I just tried to see what I could do on that Brands Hatch GP with my Cobalt SS which I know is very competitive. I do not know if Jeff means a best lap time or 1st lap, so I made this on my 5th try on the track. This is the Cobalt SS 1st lap - WITHOUT NITROUS EVEN. Now I have no idea what would happen when I have raced that track 100 times - but it would be at least 2 secs faster. Poul Picture of 1st lap - no nitro - 1.38.583

I do not know if Jeff means a best lap time or 1st lap, so I made this on my 5th try on the track. 1st lap, sub 1:39. The nitrous spins the tires on the MX5, even with low tire pressure and high downforce, so I end up tapping the nitrous button instead of holding it down. The net result is you don't consume much nitrous in the MX5, so it could be better for races as opposed to hot laps. What I don't get is why the nitrous spins the tires like that in the MX5, regardless of what gear your in, even at low speed in 6th gear, hold the nitrous button and the tires spin. I'll try the Cobalt SS later, doing a system backup now and I'm posting from a second computer. I rarely race 6.0 events online, just wanted to have some reasonably competitive car. I like sliding the rear end around in turns, and normally you can't do this in a FWD car, but it is a game, so who knows if the game ends up using RWD physics on the car. I'm using the 240SX for 4.0 is that one OK?

Again it depends on the track. I would not use the 240SX in online play unless it is a very easy track, it spins off too easy. If you register as PBRC Contestant you will be able to see the setups used in our earlier races in the Inner Circle thread. Aaron posted a very good setup on the 240SX. You do not even need to race - just register - bending the rules a bit here I know. Or perhaps as ISRC II´s very own NFS Legend, you could ask Jussi to send you the code. I think perhaps the Civic is a faster 6.0 car if someone could find a setup that makes it handle a bit better. You can upgrade it a lot with turbo and engine and make it really powerful, but it has trouble getting all that power into the tires. Poul

I havent tried Civic yet, but im getting better lap times with the S4 and RX8 at Brands Hatch Indy than i did with Cobalt. Going to test S3 and Civic tonight hopefully.

I would not use the 240SX in online play unless it is a very easy track, it spins off too easy. I increased the differntial deceleration setting from 50 to 75, which seemed to help. I left the sway bars alone, and reduced tire pressures to 30 psi. The car oversteers, but not uncontrollably so, and like I drifting through the turns.
