Yeah yeah, NFS has ruled the WCG racing genre for years, but after Undercover crisis, will Shift come back as a WCG official game?

Hi!
The problem with NFS was not Undercover quality... Was a problem between the Royalties asked by EA to have their Games in WCG. FIFA also wasnt suppose to be there, but the guys from PES created even more problems to WCG Organizers then EA, so FIFA caught a return card...
I believe that Shift will be, by far, the most voted Car Racing Game when the Polls for WCG 2010 are Up... So lets wait and see what happens, but I believe NFS will be back in 2010.

If NFS Shift is used, how will they sort out the performance issues, such as players doing sub 6:00 laps at Nordschleife while others are stuck at 6:10 to 6:15? Or for a better analogy, players able to run 1:31's (PC), sub 1:30 (XBOX), versus the players stuck above 1:35 at Silverstone GP?
Are the WCG games all run on the exact same build of PC's and controllers?

jeffareid: Prostreet still has speed bug as it was used on WCG 08. But i think they will have to fix it in some ways if they want to expand Shift's lifespan.

Hi!
Well... I see a lot of confusion in your posts... I dont even know how to start...
a) Who goes to WCG Grand Final? Only the Top Drivers of each Country. Everytime I went to WCG, I went because I was Portugal National Champion. So that settles the performance issues among Drivers: in normal circumstances, only the absolute Best in the World will be there, so having a Driver doing less or more 5s or 10s a Lap is not a concern, because it should not happen. Once I won a Race by 0.01s... After you reach Top 16, most Races are decided by tenths of second...
b) What PCs do WCG use? They have Sponsor Agreements for the essencial Parts of the PC, especially Monitor, Processor and Graphic Card. All PC's used in WCG Tournament Grand Final are exact copies of each other.
c) What about Controllers? Each Gamer is free to use their own Controller, other way wouldnt make sense, and I think I dont need to tell you way. Anyway, if a Game allows better times with a Wheel, and since the Gamers must Win a Qualification to be there, is to expect that everyone will be on Wheel. So the question about what times each controller allows doesnt really matter... If a Player chooses to use a Controller that doesnt give him the best chances, it's his decision. In WCG Grand Final for ProStreet, there were a couple of Gamepads, 1 Logitech MOMO and everyone else was on Logitech G25. As curiosity, it was the MOMO which won, but that had to do with the Rule about the Clutch use, or in other words, by doing it they took out the "unfair" advantage the G25 might have (becuase of the Fast Gear Shift), but give the advantage to the MOMO due to having a lot more buttons, which allow to assign buttons to Direct Gear Changes (like going from 2nd to 4th), which was a big advantage, especially before releasing NOS.
d) Can different PCs allow different times? Of course that if a Driver uses a PC where he just has 15 fps In-Game and other uses a PC where he plays with 100 fps, the later wins for sure, especially if the Game is Analog Controller dependent. But if people have equivalent PC's, doesnt matter what Processor or Graphic Card, they should be able to do same Times. Sometimes if you are custom to play with Nvidia Card and you go compete with ATI Card, or vice-versa, you may require some Racing to adapt, but after a while you will be doing similar times. I practised ProStreet with Intel + Nvidia, and the WCG 2008 GF was on AMD + ATI. I managed to be really close to my Personal Best on all Tracks.
e) PC & Consoles... That is not a problem... The Competition is on PC or on Consoles. There is no mix.
f) Speed Bug... I never saw a Race with Speed Bug in a WCG Final. There is something people have to realise: the Best of the Best are there! And these Players know the Limits of the Game! If someone has Speed Bug, most people there will know, including the Referees. Look... If an average Player has Speed Bug in Nordschleife with Maseratti, he will do like 6m 20s or more. These times are perfectly doable without any kind of Bug, easy even for a Top Player. Now when a Top Player, like it was the case of Cipriani, has that same situation, the result was 5m 55s, which is impossible for that Car. Hope you understand my point.
g) Reference Times... When Times for the Tracks considered in a WCG Grand Final are discussed, they are always Offline Clean Times. Online Times are never considered.
Cya!

@ Rogerio: Yes, i know it bro. Although speed bug doesn't seem to be a big problem, you must agree that they'd better fix it.
