I tried that. Didn't seem to help. The FPS drops to 10 to 12 at Willow Springs, 1st race of Tier 5, with a lot of AI cars. Changing the settings to low (and shadows off) helped the most.
Intel core 2 X6800, ATI HD4870 - 512 MB, Windows XP SP3.

Hi!
Have anyone stoped to think a little about this? Change the name of the exe improves the game? Have you thought about that implies? Is Nvidia so desperate that they force developers to block ATI card features? OMG...

My HD4870 seems to have some troubles on a couple as tracks as well .. Renaming the .exe sounds just too weird to me and won't even try it. (nonsence) I'll wait for a patch Bandit

Indeed, and ATI has managed to make drivers that fix that for Grid, but not yet for Shift. Jussi

Is Nvidia so desperate that they force developers to block ATI card features? This isn't about Shift blocking out ATI, but instead the ATI driver having game specific optimizations.
