Hi Peeps ... I was just over at the former board and was about to skip on this one, but instead I deleted my former account and signed in here. So guess what ... I got Shift(ed) Finally, after all those longing years, NfS is getting closer to being an excellent racing game again, especially considering how fast they delivered the first patch and that their LAN code reached a whole new standard for the NfS series (the in multiplayer interface still sux though) Shift is only "closer to being an excellent game" because it took me quite an amount of tweaking to make the steering with my G25 enjoyable, but ever since I found the settings from TechAde (who is the author of rFactor's RealFeel FFB plugin) I'm having a blast on track ! I wonder who was responsible for those awefull default settings and if they will include the settings from TechAde in an upcoming patch. Anyways, it's good to see you folks again, so catch you on the flipside ... Cheers ! Maggi

I'll have to see about your PBRCs though ... are they restricted to online only ?

I'll have to see about your PBRCs though ... are they restricted to online only ? They're picture based racing competitions which are normally done offline, but can be done online too (for now). Jussi

Offline sounds cool to me ! Time to make some progress in the game, I guess.

hmmm ... interesting
what strikes my odd though is the fact that you, RicardoElfrinko, Bandit and TimTaylor are roughly running around 2:35-2:40, but Grnkjr0 shaved off another 10 seconds of that, which is quite massive for such a short track ...
since you know me, I'm not eyeing a possible cheat at all, but is this again a matter of platforms (PC, PS3, XBOX360) and/or level of detail (amount of possible obstacles that might slow you down), just like back in the Most Wanted days ?
Or is it rather a result of using different controllers (keyboard, joypad vs. steering wheel) ?
I'll try to have a go at that track for myself and see what kind of times I can come up with.
Cheers ! Maggi

It's about 3 seconds per lap... I think the difference comes from different setups, different controller and controller setups and also from how many times people are willing to run the track. I only go like 2 more times per car after I stop improving my time. I think most of us use the PC version and most have some other controller than keyboard. I myself use keyboard, because I can get better times steering with my right hand fingers. My left thumb is only good for "thumb up" and I have no wheel to use. Jussi
