Speedwall screenshots: On the speedwall is registered only the fastest time, for which I have used one flashback. I haven't been able to beat it without resets. My fastest clean run is 2:33.70, for which I've posted a screen shot in my previous message. It doesn't show on the Speedwall because it's 0.27 sec. over that original speedwall time. But, considering the 1% / reset penalty the latter (2.33.70) would be my best overall. So, this is it : either ... or 2:33.70 - bogdancp - Lotus Evora - 0 resets // 2:33.43 - bogdancp - Lotus Evora - 1 reset

Hi all!
Jussi, please DQ me from this race... Yesterday after posting my time I went to the game to get screenies and I couldnt resist doing a few laps, to release some of the frustration of not having been able to play as much as I would like during the day... Unfortunately I improved after 5m and while I was smiling, I remember I had f**ked up... I have no proofs of doing the time I did, because I didnt record a video of the 2m 35.87s run and I hadnt made the screenies yet. So, I guess this will be my joker...
I suppose congratulations to Poul are in order, since he is the fastest "proofable" time here. I dont put in question bogdancp can do that time since I was faster in my run than his 2m 34.87s and I barely had any of the bouncing he had, but without video and screenies to proof his time, well... :S
This game requires some skill for sure, but the luck is more important then it... Each PBRC we do I am more certain of it.

Hello again!
My way of battling frustration is to go on track and before leaving to work, so I did... Another 1h to try to make me forget the lack of time I have these days... Anyway, I did 2m 33.50s which I will upload later. I have to say that at one of the runs, until it ended against the front of a CC, I was 0.2s up on Poul's time without any car touching whatsoever, by 2/3 of the Sprint, so it is possible to do a very good time without car bouncing. After seeing my video of the 1m 33.50s run, I think I made a bad use of the NOS in the end... Should have pause it between 3rd and 4th gears... But what is done is done! ;S

Sorry about the lack of entry for this event but I have all but given up on The Run until 1 my new wheel arrives and 2 they release a patch for this disaster of a game. My G27 has lost the function of all the left hand side buttons. I tries to get a spare part which is basically a tiny pc board with 3 domed pressure plates the size of a nail head and 4 inches of cable. Cost about 2 Euro to make I reckon. But Logitech in their infinite wisdom do not carry spares for any of their products and basically just replace the whole unit if it is in warranty. But this cannot be done locally and has to come from Logitech headquarters. So I wait but I will not hold my breath. I can still use the wheel but I am sick of 1 the wheel losing all the settings while I am in mid corner during a race. 2 having to restart the game 10 times to get the wheel to work only to have it freeze after the next run and I then have to go through the whole process all over. Start game load challenge - no wheel - close game - restart game - challenge - no wheel over and over. So stuff it I will wait for the patch if it ever gets done. B

Another 1h to try to make me forget the lack of time I have these days... Don't make me laugh, were do you find the time to break, sorry smash all the challenge time's??? I was wondering when that would come up! Eheh! ^^ Most of the challenges dont took much time to break, because we are still in the biggining and times are still not awesome... For instance: Serpent Pass, I just need to do 1m 52s to be 1st while our new friend here just posted a video of 1m 49s there; another example: Panic Attack with the Zonda Cinque, after 10m I had a time 6s faster then the previous best and not long after that I had 14s faster run... Only the Live Free or Drive Hard from Poul was really at a very high level already and to be honest I could barely beat it, and it didnt took more time because I did something that although seemed to not be faster, was more consistent, having the downside of being quite ugly! :S Anyway, because I spent the free time I had during the week and until Sunday doing all those challenges, was the reason I f**ked up... I though Sunday would be enough to get good result here but not only I was wrong because the level was a lot higher then expected but my sister dropped by and I could barely play the game compared to what I thought I would be able... This week I went 1.2s faster then the time I published just 7m after deadline... In the previous race I presented 1m 50.17s and only 19m after dedline I did 1m 49.1s. Do you think I do on purpose fastest times just after deadline or maybe is because my free time is a bit f**ked up? :S What I intended to say, and probably shoundnt, because these things always seem like excuses and rarely manage to pass the message (if you loose is an excuse, if you win and say it you are not humble - being true or not doenst ever seem to be relevant), was that my free time is not enough to do many different things... Nowdays if I want to do a race like this one I have to dedicated myself to it and not do anything else, what for those who know what I am talking about, understand when I say the frustration it brings. So, in the end, I guess I could have done it properly, I just didnt have the discipline to do it. The main problem with this game is that it requires factors we cant control to be able to do the fastest times... And that requires much more time to achieve then what I was custom to and its putting pressure on everyone here, really... Hopefully this weeks one will allow for more driving and less luck, we will see... Talking about the challenges again I say, we dont really know what can be done except on those few we actually fight for real, like the ones from ISRC... In Lotus Battle I had a 1m 40s and I thought it was good... I was 7s faster this morning... We dont know the limits of this game because there isnt a WR Page like we had in last NFS Games, so the truth is that beating all those challenges wasnt really that hard, with a few exceptions. I am sure that if we all spent more time doing them it would be impossible for me to do what I did in the time I had... If bogdancp was my friend, I wouldnt be able to do it... If Poul and Aaron would apply themselves more, I wouldnt be able to do it... If your father would spend more time on challenges and less time Online, I wouldnt be able to do it. But things are still pretty green, and this is the truth. Rogério

Video of my 2.34.20 run, which I have no doubt I could have improved if I had not been so hungover Sunday. Poul

I have to say you almost ran over that Christmas tree 2.08 in the video taking that big a shortcut. Otherwise everything lined up for you perfectly - which is why you should had done a very low 2.32 - if you had used nos more aggressively before the hairpins. In the hairpins you gain nos by drifting, no need to keep a whole bottle left before those. But very nice driving Rogerio - but as you state yourself - luck with traffic is what this is all about. Very nice driving Rogerio! I agree with Poul - you could have pulled a 2:32.xx with more aggressive NOS-ing.

I think you are both wrong! ;P
I did a few experiments with NOS and I could barely win anything in all attempts because there are a lot of factors to consider, like if you can go on the wrong side of the road, if you car doesnt slide when you cut the road, etc.. When we see my video in the last part where I have a full NOS trank one gets the feeling it could had been faster, but in truth I did a few more races reaching there with the same NOS and the best I could do was 0.2s faster, only.
And Poul, my second "car help" sucked compared to yours... When I got there I was 0.2s slower then you (because I barely use NOS compared to you before that) and after that corner I was almost 1s slower... From that point to the end I recover almost 1.7s compared to your race.
It can be faster, for sure... But you can take 1h or 1 week to do it... Its unknown. I did a few more attempts and sometimes I was up a few tenths... But always something happened...

I do not see much difference in our videos in the hairpins, except you used a huge shortcut and barely used the road while cornering - other than that not much difference. Poul
