I have ran into a few using infinte NOS and noticed it affected my game. NOS would last alot longer for me, i had only half the meter full but it lasted for 5 seconds or more, longer than if i had a normal race with full NOS meter. The meter would go down real slow and i was able to keep up with whoever was using it. The funny thing is i still won. Poul, i have one more platinum to get(live fee or drive hard, i think) and i have completed everything too. The career is much more fun on extreme handling! I will try Online soon... Still, there are a few things I dont get... Like... How do we play Online? I mean, I press Multiplayer and appears a series of Logos and then when I press them it seems I always create the rooms, I never join... :S Rogério

I made a thread in EA forum about this guy gerryvi who I am sure cheats. But some idiots in that EA forum needs to get their eyes examined. Here is a video - notice the acceleration from start. Some idiot stated it was a load problem. How the hell can it be a load problem? Just makes me wonder if people are on drugs when they state something like that.
Remember to watch in HD

You are absolutely right extreme is far more fun and I think allows for faster times because of the faster AI slipstream (drafting) effect. I also was in a race where my NOS seemed to last the whole race. My thump got cramp from holding the button in. I must tell you that I am having more fun with Run than I have had since Pro Street. B

I hate the cop's, the rubberband ai, the lack of wheel consistency, the stupid cut scenes that love to happen in the most ridiculous places. I miss NFS open world games, where I can tune my car, design the body etc. I know this is cross the country race but they could of allowed us to visit the main city's, I like to free roam just to burn around and let off steam if I'm pee'd off with the game. Apart from that, its a good game.

When the first mouse was plugged into a PC the medical profession discovered a new ailment called RSI (Repetitive Stress Injury). Well since I started playing The Run I have discovered a couple myself. SE and NT. Steering Elbow and Nitrous Thumb. Poul I have also met our friend gerryvi. I just leave the room when I see racers zooming past everyone. The biggest beef I have about 90% of the online participants (I refuse to call them racers) is they drive full speed at all corners and rely on the walls/barriers to take them around the corner. So If you took a good line and exited the corner faster than they did you just get taken out at the next corner as the barrel in at full speed into the barrier again. So far I have only raced a handful of others that actually drive the car. B

Brian do you have Hyperthreading enabled with your processor? I noticed your car was blinking and sometimes suddenly 3-5 meters ahead. It could also be internet connection of course, but I had that problem in Shift and solved it by disabling hyperthreading. If you want to see how it looks, I can make a smal video of it sometime tomorrow - or perhaps you all ready know?

I have the Nitrous thumb thing going on...my NOS button lost that little red cap and so I had too place duck tape over the button.... Now I have a small hole in the middle of my nitrous thumb... I'm starting to enjoy the game a bit more even tho its still frustrating. Playing online is crazy and it's rare to find anyone who can drive without wall riding or attempting to crash into everyone and at the same time are able to maintain their speed (how???)
Still got a long way to go to unlock all the cars but I've just been posting times and beating my recommendations. I will be looking forward to hook up with some of you guys online just so I can race with people who know how to drive honestly and the way the game should be played.
Peace

Poul sorry about that but it is the internet latency. We are quite far away from the servers so the ping is about 130ms which does not sound like much but once the signal gets to your PC the lag in time will be about double that. I am on a 4MB per second connection which is the fastest available to me. Also my son was on the same connection so that may slow it even more. I cannot tell you how distracting it is for us having cars bouncing all over with sparks flying. Thanks for the heads up though. B

Peace I can only hope that you don't start liking the game too much and become such a pain in my behind as your old man was in GRiD. Always being faster than I was... The game starts to come to me a bit more now, I am starting to like it a bit more too. The Run itself doesn't appeal to me that much, but the Recommendations and so on are starting to be fun to try to get. Unless there is a gap of 12 seconds or more between me and the guy I have to beat. I guess it all comes down to me having to try harder, which I don't want to do anymore, but if I have to...

I cannot tell you how distracting it is for us having cars bouncing all over with sparks flying. Most racing games deal with latency and lost positional update packets with "prediction code" that esimates where a car will be based on previous position and velocity. This code is really bad in NFS World, with opponent cars jumping around quite a bit. I don't recall having this problem in Shift 1, where the cars could appear to go off track (when in fact they were on track), but their movements were relatively smooth. The jerky movments occurs due to bad prediction code. EA/BB also did The Run, so I'm not surprised that it's prediction code isn't as good as the code in Shift. However EA/BB also made the older games like NFS Undercover, ProStreet, Carbon, Most Wanted, and these games have better prediction code than what is in NFS World. I'm not sure why NFS World ended up so bad. It has problems that previous games made by EA/BB didn't have, maybe EA/BB lost much of it's older development team along with the expertise and knowledge. I don't own The Run so I don't know how bad it is.

Well I finished Extreme mode, not easy at all. You will see from my wall times that any sections that had police or the Mafia involved I was far slower than my original times. They are a pain in the butt. The AI are much faster and the police and mafia very aggressive to the extent that I was sometimes wrecked even before taking control of the car. But I persevered and the reward was worth it although racing the reward car online could win you a lot of enemies. B
