Sadly having my car painted by christmas didnt happen, me and my father got too busy with going to all sorts of early christmas party's ect, But now the silly season is gone its time to knuckle down and get stuff done.
My Fathers uncle who is a spraypainter / panel beater thinks that its realistic to have it ready for paint in a few weekends with his help. Catch is i need to have the underbody painted before we can do anything so im halfway through that while my father is working away on the rust repairs at the back end still which is now almost done.
I also got the left hand side rear quater sanded
Revealing minimal rust as you can see
Look no holes We filled in the body trim holes now you wouldnt even know they were there.
The rear panel has gone to bare metal and has been repaired both sides, its now its turn to be welded back onto the car.
Ive finished my gaurds and they are now awaiting rust repair and soon enough it will be time but the main body needs to be repaired first.
heres the rust on the worst one.
The car is sitting on borrowed axle stands while i scrub up the underbody for paint.
And heres the right rear quater and rear panel so far.
The rear panel is just mocked up at the moment and not welded in but the rear repairs should be finished this weekend i hope.
Another tough one is i am moving the fuel filler to ontop of the gaurd. For everyone that doesnt know There was a sport model released called the Pacer and some of these pacers where optioned with a long range tank or now known as a Big tank which sits in the boot/Trunk and the fuel filler had to be ontop of the gaurd. I'll post some pics off this soon
Cheers for now
