@dimitri - all's well. @poul - Please don't think i'm being ungrateful or something. I'm just curious and want to know what, why and how etc. @aaron - i know Which is why i keep saying how much i appreciate all his work, and i do trust what he has found. If i was in a situation where my PC wouldn't be able to run games, or run them badly, i'd find the money and do it. But for me, my PC isn't that bad, and money-wise, if i don't have to do it all now, i'd rather not. Like i said, i've bookmarked that site, and made note of the parts Poul suggested. I'll probably end up doing it bit my bit when there's a little extra in the spendings. P.S - i don't need an 'everyday PC'. I don't watch movies on it (i've watched literally only 2 TV shows and what i have now was perfectly fine for that), i don't listen to music on it. I'm not at school, so i don't need any speadsheets or powerpoint. Word will do, although i use that once in a blue moon as it is. I don't need it for work at all. I don't need to burn CDs. I play on it, i email, and use the net. The end. Literally, that's it. Boring it may be, but that's all this PC does, and i don't see that changing. My couch is more comfy than the office chair for movie watching

Should I clean registry to get my pc faster, or leave it the way it is, I could do something bad?

I'm gonna hijack this thread for a sec... Kat won't mind.
Erm... yeah, I recently bought a new laptop because the graphics card on my old one got fried (for the second time), and thusfar it's fucking amazing. Everything runs so fast now. But anyway, I also have a regular desktop PC which I've been using for backup and just plain random shit. I really like it that way so I don't have all that random shit on my laptop which I use mainly for school work. The desktop is kinda really outdated now and the little 128MB Geforce 4200Ti inside finally decided to go die on me. Bugger held out for like nine years or so. And now I can use some advice.
How much would a new PC set me back? It doesn't have to be a massive powerhouse, money is scarce. All I really need is an nVidia graphics card (let's say 1GB) and at least 4GB of RAM. Processor: I'm thinking i5, AMD X4 or something similarly quaddish. Not gonna use it to run the newest games on the highest graphics, because I don't have the newest games nor the time to play them (if it's capable of running stuff like Hot Pursuit and GRiD I'd be more than happy). Being able to run programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD and Maya would be a big plus. Again, looking at value for money since I'm really kinda broke right now.
So tell me, how fucked am I?
