I'm wondering if Shift 2 has PC sensitivity issues in the same way that Shift 1 did. In the case of Shift 1, some players got less bouncing and/or more grip than other players simply because of the PC they played on. This seems to be a trend on games written for consoles and ported to PC, as opposed to games written for PC and ported to consoles.
For testing grip, a skid pad track (a circle) like the one in Porsche Unleashed would be nice, but Shift 2 doesn't have one. The next best thing would seem to be turn 2 at Willow Springs, but even though it's a long and nearly constant radius turn, I'm not sure how much variation there is. On my system, with the works LP640, the car seems to settle at about 131 mph <-> 210 kph for most of the mid part of the turn with tire pressures at 55 front / 70 rear. I'm wondering what speeds other players are getting there.
The other issue is the yaw stability. I ran the game in windowed mode, but forgot to turn off anti-aliasing and reduce the other setting, and the yaw / weave / laggy control issue became even worse, so that is sensitive to the PC performance, although it affects some cars more than others.

Overclocked my CPU by 31%, reduced screen resolution from 3 screens to 1, SLI mode - still drives like $%^#@.

My LP640 pass the 2nd WS GP Corner with constant 225kph, the Veyron 220 But its surely a toe/downforce issue, i drive it with 42/39 tyre pressure. Marco

I rembember that I usually did 217 as lowest there, a constant speed wasnt possible for me. setup is shown here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtoorOUVyFg (1:03.3 at willow with it) what I would do is the same tactic you used in shift 1, where you have seen some differences in the videos players made. a constant corner speed isnt realizable alone through everybodies driving style and steer in points.. so a whole lap would be the best.

There does seem to be a PC sensitivity issue. I got an average 1/2 second per lap improvement at Willow Springs by just changing video settings to low (from medium) and vsync off (from on), without making any other changes. I didn't do as many runs as I had before, but improved my best lap time by .4 seconds, from 1:05.387 to 1:04.987.
I miss the good old days when graphics performance didn't affect game play, but for that you'd need to go back to NFS High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed.

How many fps did you have at Willow with med settings and vsync on?

How many fps did you have at Willow with med settings and vsync on? Note, I didn't test fps before doing the patch, so I don't know what effect the patch made. I retested and the fps is almost the same, on the main straight, it's about 56 fps at medium, 60 fps at low. I'm not sure vsync is doing much since my monitor is a CRT that runs at 85hz. My video setting is 1280x960x85hz since it's an older style CRT monitor. Note the lap time improvement was only about .75 % (less than 1%), .4 to .5 seconds out of 65 seconds, so I wasn't expecting much of a difference in fps. Although the fps is about the same, it could be that the game is doign more work to keep up with graphics at medium and that could be affecting the game play. All of this could be coincidence, but I had run 20 laps or so before I tried changing graphic settings, and that's when I noticed about a 1/2 second improvement in my lap times with no other changes. It would be helpful if someone else could do a similar test, but with graphics switched between low and high (my system is an older system, so I didn't try high setting). update - vgspeedpro got a new system: With everything maxed out except for Motion Blur and AA which were off, I had 105 to 125 fps. With everything maxed out except for only Motion Blur, which was off, I had 73 to 83 fps. About Gameplay, I think its enough to say that on my 1st attempt I beat my best ever with Default Apollo on that track!!!!!! Couldnt believe it, since I did quite a few laps there. The thing is, the car is so much more controllable... I mean, after that very long right, you have a very sharp and quick right, which now I do without lifting and in my previous PC I would have to lift because if I didnt, I would loose the back of the car! So another player here has experienced some PC sensitivity in the game.
