You guys are going to be bored with game in two months, and then you're going be complaining that you need a new game to race... the game has only been out for 10 days but yet your not interest in finishing your career unless you can master every track on the first lap, I guess in my case being older is much more wiser and I have more patients to wait my turn. I can't imagine what you guys are like in the super market you just push you way to the front of the line and want to finish first. I added money for my offline career run, because I wanted to start off with a maxed out D class car and then later a maxed out C class car.
With Shift 1, you could do 2 quick 1 lap races at Nordcshliefe in the loaner Maserati, which would earn you a lot of initial bonus money for leveling up, but that strategy doesn't work with Shift 2.

NFS are the only games I played Single Player in the last 11-12 years, and I only did it because I had to, to unblock cars and parts... All others I just play Online Mode. What makes this one different is that you dont win enough money to buy all the cars you want with just doing once the career... And when you have very limited time to play like I do, spending time doing Career Races over and over to get money, its really a waste of time! :S In the supermaket I just dont do that out of respect... Because I guess even there I want to finish 1st! LOLOLOLOL Rogério

There's also the other approach Poul & Aaron both will race a track 500 times before moving on to the next track, I bet it might take him 6 months to finish his career, but by then he'll have 30 millions dollar to work with.
But then again you can tell by their track times that they are pure professionals and are very serous about racing...
I racing every track and take what ever times I can get... and try to finish my career early so I can unlock all the track and all the cars... Then after I am finish with my career. I am currently at 73% complete in my career I will go back and re-race most of my tracks to try to better all my old times with better parts and upgrades. This year I have an Extreme gaming PC that Poul help me put the together so I should be able to better compete against you guys.....

Because I have come to learn how you tend to overreact, I will not take literally what you say here, for the sake of not creating confusion! I had a good laugh though, when you say by not so many words, I dont take racing seriously... Probably the last person in this Forum you should say that... But going on... First of all, I am guessing that none of the ones mentioned works 6 days a week, 11h out of home each day, and this for 7 years without vacations. Well, this is my reality. Re-doing Offline Races for the sake of winning money is just plain stupid and made for people who enjoy single player, which is not my case. I have to say Autolog changes things a bit, but still is not for me. @bandid, having fun is exactly what I am trying to do here! ;P Like I said re-doing Career Races over and over is no fun at all, I think for everyone! :S The fact is they, who made the game, know about this and the proof is that for Consoles you have the option to pay for it. Anyway, again like I said when this was discussed in Jeff's case, I dont consider this a cheat. This will not make me go faster or be better. It will just allow me to have cars that will be fun to drive sometimes, even more becuse I already have the best cars in the game for all categories... What is more funny is that I still not even decided if I am going to do it! LOL Rogério

I totally understand Rogerio, i wish i was working as much as you,( i would own a real race car if i was... hopefully soon.) but if i was and they made something to only affect the money in game, i would probably use it. It does take longer to make money in S2 and there are too many cars to toy with and lifes too damn short.

I just wanna say that cheating takes the fun out of a game. Not really, it just changes the game from what EA thinks a career mode should be to one the player wants it to be. If a player wants to eliminate having to deal with not having enough money to start off career with good lower class cars, then money trainers are an alternative. If the lower class cars ever got used again later in career, it wouldn't as much of an issue, but in Shift 2's career mode, once you've done the class D events, they never show up again. You also need to remember that most of the sim-oriented racing games don't have a career mode, you just get a full set of cars and tracks. Some may have some minimal optional career mode, but it doesn't unlock anything.

This game is only 10 days on the shelves, and everyone has at least $3-5 Mio already earned in game money without even finishing 50% of career events.
I am going to play this game at least 10 months, so for me there is no need to rush.
Some of us do not need to be the fastest faster than everyone. We will take our time and tune our cars not only for the Class A events.
Plus, I like to try Jeff's suggestions about different cars, and then to see whether I can find something faster on my own. It is just my 2 cents.

There's a trainer for this also. For those of us that don't want to spend most of career mode following a green line to collect badges, I found a "master track" trainer, a bit crude, but it works. members.cox.net/savefiles/nfss2umastertrack.zipIn the case of Shift 1, I never used a trainer like this, but you leveled up and earned cash for quick races, so I use the loaner Maserati, and mastered all corners on all tracks before starting career mode. I ended up with lot of cash. I think I got burnt out on career mode "grinding" (like master all corners) because of all the "grinding" in NFS World. In NFS World, I ran over 2,000 6 minute pursuits in order to reach level 50. Later with version 5's performance parts change, I had to run a bunch of private match races at specific tracks to farm for parts, where you get one random part every 20 to 30 races. In spite of spending 5 or so hours per week doing this for 6 weeks or so, I never got all the parts I wanted for just one car, the BMW, and since you can't transfer parts, if a new car become available, I'd have to start all over again. If I get inspired, I can always redo career mode with no trainers. This was one of the things I liked about NFS Carbon. It's career mode was short enough that most players were willing to redo it using the 3 slightly different paths (exotic, muscle, tuner), or different strategies. I redid career mode in ProStreet to create a walkthrough and setup guide. However at this point, I'm not sure I'll play much online until I get over my NFS World burn out. Some players treat the career modes in racing games similar to the career modes in first person shooters, or adventure games, where some of them use invulnerable or infinite ammo trainers just because they just want to complete the game without having to repeat the same sequences over and over. They may not be true fans, but they enjoy the games and they spend money to buy the games, which makes the game makers happy, and the game makers seem only concerned about trainers used for unfair online play.

It does take longer to make money in S2 and there are too many cars to toy with and lifes too damn short. Thanks for understanding my friend! Unfortunately I work all those hours just to make ends meet! :S Things are not easy nowdays, especially for those who run their "own" companies... More then 50% of a small companies income in Portugal goes to the Government... Our VAT has reached 23% and just a few days we had to ask for help to avoid bankruptcy... Most is due to the speculation and rating agencies, for some people to make lots of money, and not based on real data, but its the way of things today. The trainer I got just affects money... For what I could gather, it basically makes you have unlimited money and you can press on/off with a numeric key... Still didnt decided to use it... Will wait a little more! Rogério
