the should have phrased at least the ingame setup guide better. dunno which dampers or rebounds affect steer in etc. I think they actually did a good job on the effects of slow and fast dampening. Fast bump and rebound effects how the car handles over curbs and rumble strips as it should. Slow bump and rebound effect how the cars handles when cornering as it should.

Well to me this feels like the same physics engine as Shift 1 with a bunch of bugs thrown into it. I really dont believe it's complex enough to use inside/middle/outside tire temps as a base to build fastest possible setups on. I think they noticed a sim-oriented fan base growing and pushing their wishes, so they added this telemetry thing that looks nice but isnt really useful. Principles might be right though. Maybe they thought that too low tire temps gives you less grip. Thats how your setup felt to me. I use tire pressure at 40 and you were up to 70? It's a huge difference and mine would give much higher tire temps. Maybe it's a bug that the higher temps the more grip in absurdum. Since there isnt any tire wear it almost kinda makes sense to go for higher temps than a restricted tire preserving setup. I tried my Ambush setup posted above at a few different tracks yesterday and it was terrible (Still works good for Ambush however). So i made a new setup useing same tire pressures but much stiffer susp and dampers. Turn in is alot better and holds corner speeds better, especially at high speeds. The overall feeling is much better, tighter. I decided to make the setup first and then check telemetry. It didnt make a difference at all to tire temps. Im thinking something is not right with telemetry or im not doing something right(probably the case ). Either way, telemetry seems useless.

Tomas, i did notice increased grip as i was raising tire pressures, but mostly on the first corner and the left turn after the long straight at Ambush. As Poul stated, you slide too much on all the rest of the corners. I think i will use a flat, fast track(Silverstone's, Dakota's since i know them) to test this some more.
I will keep testing telemetry when making setups in hopes of maybe finding something useful.

If you're using time attack mode, note the tires start off already warmed up (unlike race mode). It's also possible that time attack keeps the tires at ideal temp and doesn't let them overheat, and if this is the case, you can't use time attack to see the tire temperatures.
In most racing games that show the tire temperature inside to outside, you're only adjusting camber and tire pressure to get them nearly equal on non-downforce cars and somewhat higher on the inside for high downforce cars. The camber reaction is affected by the sway bars (body roll), so you need to adjust the sway bars first. A large amount of toe in can heat out the outside of tires, but I don't know if Shift 2 models this.
