mine is now rcgldr, same as the personas I use. EA didn't "change" my master id, but instead deleted it. Then I logged in to Shift 2 and it prompted me to enter a new master id, which accomplishes the same thing as getting the master id changed.
Not sure when or if I'll go online. I went online and only ran 2 career events to get an entry into the Shift 2 database. I'm mostly testing using saves where I've never logged in.
I don't know about Hot Pursuit 2010, but Shift 1 doesn't use the ea master id. It uses one or more personas you create using your EA new account that uses email to login. Undercover uses the same database as Shift (at least for managing personas).
If EA also deleted one of the personas, you can just create it again, which may reset your online stats, but won't affect your career progress. Your win / loss stats are kept in the savefile (and they can be editted to any values you want with a trainer), but your lap records are kept online so you may end up seeing duplicates over time if you create a new persona. I keep backups of my saves, so if one gets messed up, I can just restore. For Shift I turned off auto-save and each time I log in my win/loss stats get reset, but not my lap times or my dnf percentage.
To check your EA (master) ID on your new account and your personas, log into:
profile.ea.comThere is also this login for a new account which also shows your ea id and 3 of your personas, as well as a list of games you create under "my games". This is a list you create and doesn't mean you actually own the games.
ea.com/profileIf you played NFS Prostreet or an earlier NFS game, or Crysis, or any game before 2008, you'll also have a old account that you log into using username instead of password. This can get confusign since both accounts may have the same email and personas. I changed the email on my old account to reduce confusion.
To see your classic user name account (which is a separate account). There are two paths, go to this link, which brings up the "classic account" brown and white web pages instead of the blue and white web pages.
help.eastore.comThen login using a username (persona or screen name), then click on my account or my games. You'll get another login in prompt (blue and white) and possible a third prompt (brown and white) asking to reenter password. You end up at this page:
If you click on my games, you'll get a list of old games you actually registered, along with their install keys, which will look like this but with real keys instead of the X's I photoshopped onto the picture:
rcgldr.net/misc/eaaccountold2.jpgThe other way to get there is to start with the next link, which starts off using blue and white web pages, but eventually leads to the "classic" brown and white pages (or it sometimes gets an error).
support.ea.comNFS Prostreet and older NFS games uses the older type username account. There are also multiple databases to keep track of the stats for each game, some of which are shared between a pair of games. This goes back to Underground 2 which is no longer online, but Underground 2 and Most Wanted share the same database, except that Undergrond 2 supported 3 personas and allowed you to create / delete them. Most Wanted only uses 1 persona, not sure of how it picked which one to use, and you could delete and create personas in Most Wanted, but nothing truly got deleted, unless you asked ea support to delete the persona, and I wouldn't know which one to specify since there are semi-duplicates (needforspeed.com, needforspeedpc, classicscreenname, ...)
summary of persona databases and the games that share themHot Pursuit 2 - Gamespy, still working last I read

Underground 2 + Most Wanted - username database
Carbon - username database

Hot Pursuit 2010 - autolog - I'm guessing ea master id?
