Hi!
Until a fix is out I am not going to try more things... I may try to change the xml with those 2 things I found earlier, but thats about it...
So far I did as follow:
a) Went to Profiler choose to make it Default (and when I did this NFS got sync with it, having also max 200 degrees in steering lock); b) Still in Profiler I checked the Center Spring Box, but unchecked the Allow Game to Change Settings; c) In Game I am using 75% in FF and all Sensitivity Values; 0 on all Dead Zones; 0 on the Speed Steering; 200 degrees in Steering Lock.
I didnt test with the D Class Cars, but with R8 works ok...

I m not 100 % sure where to put this... But have played shift 2 with elite handling and did just some few laps on Road america with normal handling. And for me this was a huge different in grip and how fast the car easy didn't over steer in fast corners in Road america.

André update - There doesn't seem to be any difference in grip between normal and elite modes. These settings just seem to change the defaults on the other settings. rcgldr Recently, we all heared praises for RCGLDR from various ISRC Members. So, is his testing credible? I think we need to review it one more time. (I mean the influence of different Handling Modes )

I can only state that I didn't notice any significant difference in lap times at Willow Springs. Although normal and elite modes didn't seem to affect my lap times much, I haven't played the game enough to get my lap times consistent enough to notice any small difference in grip level. Other players have also reported they didn't notice much difference. We need more players running with all assists off to compare normal versus elite mode. Even novice mode allows all assists to be turned off. The other option is to wait for the guys that modded the physics of Shift 1 to do the same thing for Shift , and wait for their feedback to see if or how the various driving modes affect the game play based on the data they see. I'll update the other thread as I do more testing since this is a wheel setting thread.

Even novice mode allows all assists to be turned off. Sorry, my fault. It is true.

Even novice mode allows all assists to be turned off. With all my respect, but it is not true. One can not use manual gearbox or clutch with the Novice Mode. I do not remember exactly which one. Not true.... Poul

Although novice mode may not be affecting overall grip levels, or best lap times, it could be helping with the yaw / stability issue or in general making the cars a bit easier to drive, resulting in more consistent times. I haven't done enough testing to know if this is really helping or not.
I'm using a joystick to steer, and since I don't have any force feedback, I mostly memorize my control inputs at key corners at each track, so I don't have an idea of how the steering "feels".
I'm having a more difficult time in Shift 2 than Shift 1 in getting some of the cars to go where I want them to go when at the limits and at maximum speed for the turns. The works Apollo brakes so quickly and slows so much when drifting with throttle off, that it's difficult to get the braking point and turn in points as consistently as I could with Shift 1. The tire warm up effect on the first lap also takes some getting used to.
