The works Apollo appears to be scraping the ground at high speed (sparks), similar to the GTR in Shift 1. I looked at the default setup and noticed the heigh is set to front 2, rear 0, so I set them both to 2. The only other change I made was front/rear downforce from 14/13 to 10/12, which helped reduce high speed oversteer a bit. In spite of the 226 mph described top speed, the default gearing is only 188 mph.
If it's the same bug as Shift 1's GTR, then even using maximum height and zero downforce won't fix the scraping problem.

isnt it just another cool bling bling effect they added? I dont notice any speed loss or understeer because of it. Or more than the normal awful understeer at least

Thx a lot for the setup, Aaron.
Did you use your telemtry results to set the tire pressure only or you adjusted your suspension as well based on the data?
Is it really easier to adjust cars by telemetry, or was it used mostly for the fine adjustments of existing tune?

You welcome Dimitri, look in Max supercars thread, i explain how i used telemetry.

I did a minimalist setup for the works LP640, only changed downforce to 24/24 (max). Also set speed sensitivity to 100% to deal with the yaw issue I'm having trying to steer with a joystick. I'm not good at trail braking as I prefer using lift throttle induced oversteer to scrub off speed as needed in turns, but that doesn't work well with the Shift 2 LP640, so I'm learning to rely on braking more instead of using downshifting and lift throttle to control speed in turns like I did in Shift 1 and some other racing games. Did a few runs at Norschleife and managed a 6:02.219 run, which is good for me.
I can't get close to that lap time in the higher rated works Apollo, and it seems unfair for the fastest car to be limited edition only.

it seems unfair for the fastest car to be limited edition only. I agree, and it's only made worse by the fact that there's no list of records sat with B, C or D class cars. Actually, there aren't any lists at all, except friend lists. I see a few guys here are fighting over the WR at Ambush Canyon, but who knows if there isn't someone out there who is faster? As I recall, the bugged/cheated WR is 30-something seconds, but there could be several real times between this and Tjomp's time.

The game needs a better leaderboard system, something like Shift 1 or better yet, one like Porsche Unleashed, which kept separate records for each class of cars (it had 15 classes if I recall).
There should also be a GT1 class and probably a GT3 class as I suspect those cars are the most realistic in the game, at least in terms of lap times (versus real world).

I agree and have been rooting for that for ages. Sadly the only current game that I know to have that sort of detailed leaderboards is Heat online aka Level-R. Jussi

I am now doing the GT3 Races and its the 1st time I really felt great driving in Shift 2... It all feels really natural. I am thinking of doing the Endurance Races with probably a GT1 car, assuming it will also be good, to be honest. Rogério

I used Willow Springs to make this setup, i got a 1:05.180, dont know how fast that really is though. Tested on Silverstone and a few other flat tracks and handles very well for me. I hope this one doesnt waste your guys time. LP 640 - willow springs
F tire pressure - 53.00 R tire pressure - 70.00 Brake balance - 45.00 Brake pressure - 20.00 - Steering lock - 20.00 Caster - 3.00 F toe - 21.00 R toe - 21.00 F camber - 24.00 R camber - 22.00 - F & R ride height - 3.00 - F & R downforce - 24.00 - Limited slip preload - 5.00 Visco lock - 20.00 - F damper fast bump - 2.00 F damper slow bump - 3.00 F damper fast rebound - 6.00 F damper slow rebound - 3.00 R damper fast bump - 2.00 R damper slow bump - 5.00 R damper fast rebound - 6.00 R damper slow rebound - 6.00 - F sway bar - 8.00 R sway bar - 8.00 F spring rate - 3.00 R spring rate - 4.00 F bump stop - 2.00 r bump stop - 2.00 - Final drive - 4.00 1st - 3.00 2nd - 1.00 3rd - 1.00 4th - 2.00 5th - 2.00 6th - 1.00

Thanks for sharing, Aaron. Starting to look quite similar to my own setups. I think this will work quite well. I use more steering lock though, but naturally because I use much more wheel rotation degrees than you guys.
Brake balance I tend to either have at 50, for shortest possible braking distance, or slightly towards the rear to induce more turn in under braking. I nover noticed any signs of needing to switch the bias towards the front.. And then as I said it feels for me as lower tire pressure gives more grip, but not sure. Also noticed that too much softness in front springs or tire pressure in this car tends to put it in the sliding behaviour which kills lap times in this car.
Willow springs I think I did 1,03 something.. not sure either what should be the benchmark. At silverstone bridge grand prix (old and best layout of silverstone GP) I did quite a few runs today to try to get a good time and ended up at 1,28,0

I'm not so sure about how the setups are working. With a works LP640, I tried tire pressures at 40/40, 40/50 and 55/70 (front/rear) at Nordschleife. The feel was a bit different but lap times were about the same (around 5:56.5 for me which seems to be my limit. At Willow, the 55/70 pressures resulted in a bit better lap times, but it didn't seem to help at Nordschleife.
Using Willow Springs turn 2 as example, at 40/50 corner speed was about 130 mph, at 55/70 about 131 mph, not a lot of difference there. Wondering what speeds other players are getting.
I'm hoping that there isn't some system senstive bug like there was in Shift 1 that's affecting grip level (in Shift 1 it also affected the bounce issue).

i wonder why nobody tried higher front pressures so far. i had my lambo with 32/30 and did 1:03.7 at willow without problems.sway bars, dampers etc are all soft, toe in is increased, cambers are way more negative seems to work too at road america, where ussrxtwitchy did 1:42.4 with it. currently i'm working with 28/30 and a few minor adjustments, wasnt able to beat all of my laprecords though.
