I just tried Jeff's combination of upgrades and improved alot in level/rating 1499. But I'll let Jeff reviele his own creation ;P
Edit: Not paying attention, the car was the Audi R8 that Jess apparently already posted.

What car was it you used online with me yesterday, Dimitri? Amazing straight line speed but then you seemed to go just fast forward and not turn I think it was rating 9,99 as I was driving my Audi. Yes, that piece of scrap metal is pretty fast. It was Class B Audi S3. When we raced Dubai, it was my first time I drove that track in Shift 2, so I did not really know where the corners were located After spending 1 hour tuning the beast today, it handles even better. But I am sure, this car won't beat Galardo on tracks with tight corners. I am using my Nismo for it Need to try Jeff's R8 as well...

it was my first time I drove that track in Shift 2, so I did not really know where the corners were located In Shift 1, I never used the Best Line-assists, but it's very helpful in this game, especially in the night races. What someone might not know, is that this line becomes more "aggressive" with the handling modes. So if you're driving on Novice, you get on the brakes typically 100 meters after the line has turned red, but if you're on Elite and you have ABS turned on, it usually works excellent to hammer on the brake exactly when the line gets red. I don't use ABS, so I tend to brake a bit after this point.

Thanks for that information. I was wondering why the best line went red so early, well before the first braking marker on the tracks that have those.

Do you want to share what upgrades you used for that car, Dimitri?
I have to try it =) It felt as I was in a little skoda in an f1 race watching you disappear on the straight =)

Once I come back home from work, I am going to post setup. There is nothing very special in it, but tuning can change alot.
I wish I had more free time for playing to compete with your lap times for Class B career events. You are really fast, Thomas.

Thanks, Dimitri! Mostly parts for upgrade I'm curious about. Car setup part I think I will tweak around for my driving style.
I have not put alot of effort into the career events. It feels kind of wierd to compete based on lap or several lap times when racing imbicille AI. I have put a little more effort in learning the super cars and driving quick races without AI though.
It will take alot of time building track specific car setups for every car we use.

Same for me, I run each career event 4 times max, just to get familiar with the track layouts and car handling.
I do not work as much like Rogerio, but I have my 40 hours working week + Gym + Friends + cook my own food, kinda handicapped against school students and retirees.
Coming back to the Audi Dragster.
S3 has a heart from R8, maxed out with all upgrades except for engine parts. I installed: - Cold air intake - Merged collector header - High compress. forged pistons - Large injectors - Pro street spec flywheel
I have not changed rims yet, not sure whether it can shave some extra seconds.
Has somebody tested influence of different rim sizes on car performance?
P.S. There are also some other good dragsters in the game.

Different rims is just cosmetics. It doesn't change handling.

What cars are the fastest - need to know. I have around 1.3 mill left and only the GT3 part left in career. I all ready have the Apollo Works and LP640 as Works. Now I want to know what everybody is driving online - the fastest...

Thanks, Dimitri. I already tried it myself, I managed to put almost everything on the car I think. I must admit I didnt listen when you said it was slow in the corners, I thought I might be able to muscle it around. But damn you were right that car is a piece of crap through the corners ;P
I'll stick to the Audi.
I'm starting to noticing the annoying same difference in FFB-strenght in different cars also that were in Shift 1. I like to feel what is happening. But the FFB is really weak in this game at full strength, but the effect from curbs is much too strong. Why do they make the curbs almost shake the wheel apart?

Hi, I have the same, Thomas. Theres a simple thing to solve it for me, I run the race till I see my speedometer, then minimize the game via alt tab fastly, and open it again. Now, the FFB is much stronger and feels way better.

no thats something else, FFB disappearing. Sometimes it's solved by pausing and other times I have to restart the game. Not sure if I have more problems due to not using the original G27 pedals though.
But I meant that as it's supposed to be the shaking from curbs is made much too strong and the effect of gripweight and grip loss is too weak in comparison.
Should probably be possible to change within some xml but I dont remember how we did it in Shift 1.

Ah, okay, have you tested a different wheel preset already?

Hey Thomas, I have the same problem with FFB and center spring. But, when it happens (and it happens every 20-40 min for me), I solve it by restarting the race and then it is fine. But I can imagine, if it will happen during online race, then one, obviously, can not restart... I guess, it is caused by mistakes in the game code for Logitech Wheel Controllers, and may be fixed in the upcoming patch along with the input lag issue. 2 Words about S3. Apart from nice acceleration and ability to drive on the sand and grass even faster than on the tarmac, it has massive understeering problem and nonoptimal suspension setup. I worked around it by lowering front tire pressure, changing brake balance and pressure, hardening some dampers half way, twitching the gearbox + camber/caster adjustments. But, Lambo,Nismo,R8 are still better for tracks overall. Now, I am working on Class A dragster, and it will be a real beast! Do not have much time for playing due to work. See you online on the track on Wednesday.
