My Autolog name is Bradbury. I've added Dreamgate (easy to find because he has a ton of records). I'll try to find the rest of you as well. The search function sure could use the ability to use wildecards.

TomasT whats your online racing name? I search for your name and it didn't find it, to the lower right of the friends tab you will see search,
to accept a request click on the name and it should pop open a box that says compare and accept request...
is anyone using the live chat and if so how do you set it up. I keep going into rooms and hearing squealing microphone wonder if I can mute them out if I am setup with it?

I'm rcgldr again (after getting ea support to delete my ea master id so I create a new one for shift 2, and future "autolog" games).
I've only gone online once, and only ran the first two career events. I have spent most of my time testing stuff with a different set of saves that are offline only.
Eventually I'll go online, but after doing my initial testing, I'll work my way through a normal career mode, then go online. By then other players should have sorted out which cars are best, the setups and issues. I doubt the yaw / weave / stability issue can be fixed with setups, so hopefully a patch will fix that. Until then lap times are going to vary more than they did in Shift 1.

The instant youtube uploader works quite well.. Too bad it's maxed to ten seconds but enough to record my stunt: For some reason though my car all of a sudden is red instead of black Bandit

I don't understand why I can't browse ranked games. I can search for ranked games, but that's not ideal. You either have to search for a specific track or any track. If you choose the latter, then you'll practically be thrown into a random race. Also, there's no "Any"-option for daytime. So if you do a search for a race on a spesific track, then you might get no hits because maybe there is a race about to start on that track, but the host has chosen to race at Dusk instead of Day.
I tried searching for a race, and it did find a game that seemed perfect. Perfect except for the hanging lobby. The counter was stuck on 1:45, so I just left after a while.
I searched for a race on another track to avoid going back to the same lobby, but now I didn't find a race. Instead a race was created with me as the host. In my search I had put "Any" on the type of car, so why on earth did the game decide to only allow Retro in my race?! I don't even have a single retro car in my garage!
And why is there no chat? I know the chat box is often subject to abuse, but I would rather be chewed out once in a while than not be able to talk at all.

I'm Tjomp. I've seen you a couple times already. Do you mean friend request? Or the "accept online game invite" that I asked about eariler? I still havent figured out how to do that. It seems like in F1 2010. In the beginning many people used the headsets. Some didnt realize they had a microphone somewhere. I heard angry norwegians and singing spaniards, very funny for a while. But a couple weeks after release no one used it anymore. I'm gonna miss the chat function in this game, especially since the game crashes if I try to alt+tab out for any kind of other communication. TomasT whats your online racing name? to accept a request click on the name and it should pop open a box that says compare and accept request... is anyone using the live chat and if so how do you set it up. Or the "accept online game invite" that I asked about eariler? I still havent figured out how to do that. Just a guess here, but have you tried pressing the right shift key to accept a game invite? The right shift key can be used to save after changing an option (it's what the game means by the up arrow). Also I noticed there's weather effects, although it seems to be somewhat rare. At one of my test runs at Road America, I got thick clouds and fog.

New NFS Shift 2 is an excellent game.
However, naming it Unleashed was misleading, because Posche game is a historical career game that does not have much in common with Shift and ProRacing series.
The right name for the NFS Shift 2 should be ProTrack, cause it shares alot with an old NFS ProStreet.
Shift2 took the best from the previous NFS Series, but it misses some good stuff as well: - online chat - text messenger like in ProStreet - dynotest - blueprint sharing - engine tuning - drag and sector races (not to mention wheeles and speed events) - transparent system of online racing groups - sophisticated leaderboards with top 100 racers for a day/month/track - custom vinils ...
Hopefully, DLC will bring at least some of this stuff back.
Guys, what are you missing most in the NFS Shift 2 ?

I have a Nintendo Wii, and online I've played a couple of FIFA games, two Tiger Woods games and Grand Slam Tennis. What I disliked about all of these games from EA Sports, and the entire Wii, was that you could only send prewritten phrases to those you chatted with. In Shift 2 we don't even have that!! We can't even say anything to the ones on our friends list!
On the Wii, they want to limit the ability for pedos to get in touch with kids through their system, but what's the reason for not being able to chat on the PC? Random races online are sterile and boring. If I'm not driving againt somebody I know, I feel I'm driving against regular AI cars who are just a little less predictable.

I do not see the fairness in selling NFS Shift2 Unlimited Edition for an extra $10 charge, when in reality, it is more like demo verson that has only 75% of the game content, missing most interesting Drag Events that are to be released as a DLC for extra $.
Has someone bought regular NFS Shift 2 version?
Feels like a Kill Bill movie with the missing 2nd part.

Just now I was trying out online mode and did a quick search, but how do I change the view to hood view? I do not want to race with helmet cam view or anything else of that crap. Is it locked to that view - because when I hit the button I assigned to change view - nothing happend.

Is it locked to that view - because when I hit the button I assigned to change view - nothing happend. I've heard that it is possible to force certain view for all players. I think you need to un-tick something somewhere. The developers were so proud of that feature, that they probably made it the default value. Jussi

Shift2 took the best from the previous NFS Series, but it misses some good stuff as well... Vinyl editing system for one is straight from arse!!! You can't use mouse at all? You can't freely rotate or zoom the picture? you can select colors by hue, saturation and brightness, but instead of 360 of each, you have 21 choices per each?! Oh my God!! I thought TDU 2's vinyl system was from arse, but this may quite possibly be even worse. Jussi
