if the host selected helmet cam or in car cam then you have to use what the host has selected too.... to the right in racing lobby it will say what view are allowed. if it say (all) then your OK if not you have to race whatever the host has selected for a view... I'll just jump out after the race has started and I am not using that helmet or in car cam.... Just now I was trying out online mode and did a quick search, but how do I change the view to hood view? I do not want to race with helmet cam view or anything else of that crap. Is it locked to that view - because when I hit the button I assigned to change view - nothing happend. Poul

You have to be kidding me.... that can only be some drunk developers idea of how to irritate people - just to show off their new helmet cam view. It´s a gimmick and if I wanted something like that, I would go play a SIM racing game. Poul

I have not had not one good online racing experience yet.. Every race is a crash fest... the other day I thought I found a good room but I lost my steering wheel, it went from good and tight to sloppy in one race I also lost my car reset button it just didn't work online. after restarting the game it fix it but I didn't go back online to race.
Between that any everyone talking loud in 3 different languages and playing music for the whole room to hear... I might be racing solo for awhile. Aaron and I try to make a unranked race and again and the join button wasn't there I even had him on the phone and either one of us could connect to the other.. So I have no clue on way it didn't work the game has all kinds of weird bugs.

Sometimes the career is driving me crazy! If you just barely touch another car, you are either tossed into a wild spin, or you are stuck to him. You know you need a break when all you can think about is getting revenge...on the AI drivers! It's the sweetest feeling when I manage to tap an AI driver out of control while maintaining control myself. It happens maybe 1 out of 500 times.
If only I could drive as quickly as I can restart a race. I think I'm unbeatable in this area. Button 6, Brake, Button 2, Brake, Button 2, Button 2, Paddle 2. All in the blink of an eye.
The thorn in my paw right now, is a nightrace at Nordschleife with Class A cars. It makes me so angry I want to rip off my own arm and use it to bash my computer to a heap of scrap metal.

The thorn in my paw right now, is a night race at Nordschleife with Class A cars. I've found 3 of these so far in career mode. The first is an invitational where you drive the McLaren MP4-12C. The second is the second part of endurance series, one daytime 5 lap race, followed by one nighttime 5 lap race. I used a works Apollo, which is quick but as you mentioned, trying to get by the AI, especially early on, is tough, as most of the passing I did was under braking. I had to go about 1/3rd lap or so before I cleared the last AI car. The AI cars seem to ease off on the first 3 laps, apparently "saving" their tires, then they speed up and it ended up being close at the end, with the tires on my car starting to fade a bit. Worse yet was a couple of retries I had to do because some AI car wrecked and remained on the track. The last one I did was the last race of works starlight, but that's just one lap, and the AI aren't as fast once you get by. Note you can use any car in the endurance series. If you have the cash, I'm thinking a GT3 car might be easier, based on how the AI were handicapping in the GT3 events.

Well, I also have big problems with night race at Nord... For some reason my screen is really pitch black... I see probably not more then 0.5s in front! :S Its impossible... Have to see if I can improve with thru ATI Drivers or eventually on the Monitor, but I think its one is pretty much at max in that field! :S

Rogerio, ATI has new drivers released about a week ago. I didnt see a difference in the darkness of night races though.

Yes, already installed them... I think we can set brightness there, never really had to do it, so not sure... But for me Nord at night is simply impossible... When you are doing 200-300 km/h having just 50m of clear view in from of you is just unbelivably hard and I keep missing all breaking points and turn-ins! :S

I adapt brightness and contrast settings constantly. For example in heavy rain where they simulated mist. The first thing you do as a graphical artist to create mist is to lower the white point and heighten the black point which thus evens out the gamma curve, so to correct it you just increase contrast and you see further than other players. Also if youre on a computer monitor you generally have lower contrast as default than on a tv.
In night races you should also turn off contrast enhancements and increase brightnest value.

Yes, I intend to try that. Thanks!

I would try it too, but with three monitors and no ability to make presets, it's just too much hassle... If I can just win these races once, then I'll never see them again anyways.

I will definitely concider that for the 5-lap night race. For the one I've been struggling with now, only road cars were eligible so I bought a 918 Concept. Kept it stock and breezed through on my second attempt.

Is this one of those events?

I have no idea. This was under level 12/13, Modern A, Nordschleife 24 - Road Masters Challenge. It's one event divided into four stages: First each part of Nord at daylight (maybe also dusk, I don't remember), then the pitch black full lap.
